Outgoing? Chris Wilder

The new owners gave him a 3 year contract a matter of months ago.
If they want him gone, they need to pay up.
It would be incredibly tinpot if they're trying to wriggle out of their contractual obligations.

They've allowed a pretty substantial leak on this and for me, it's now too late for them to keep Wilder. The uncertainty hanging over Wilder will stink the place out and it'll impact our Summer business.

If they're genuinely going all in on their AI approach, and not backing Wilder at all on targets then they're totally clueless.
No issue in using the AI on punts for development players, but if they think Plovdiv & Peru are going to dish out oven ready propositions, then they need to chuck their computers in the bin.

If they want him gone they’ll have to pay up but before any facts are known let’s suggest they will try not to.

Where is the suggestion that these “AI” signings are deemed to be first team starters?

It’s usually the trolls and Grunters who like to muddy the waters on here.

It's widely reported that we're going heavily down the AI route.
The owners said it themselves in their statement.

I'm not sure I qualify as a grunter or troll, but you're welcome to your view.

His 3 year contact could fairly easily have had a break clause.

The board could quite easily be discussing wether to use that option or not and might not actually be sacking him just choosing to part ways.

Imagine it would have had a tasty promotion bonus and if they’re protecting their own interests it could well have had a missing out clause as well.

We will likely never know.

IMO we set ourselves years behind where we decided not back Slav.. at some point we have to forgoe short term pain for long term gain

The Slav backing was fucking ridiculous to be fair. He’d always played using wide players. We had none.

He brought in Gibbs-White for one side, had to pull Ndiaye out the academy and used Ben Osborn as a left winger.

It would have been very interesting to see how things would’ve panned out had Slav had this seasons budget.

Is there any evidence to suggest this

The leak may well have not come from the club

Who is to say that the AI approach is mainly for punts as such as the three weve signed who are pretty obviously punts. There is some evidence that the data approach works on finding players ready for first team as has already been said Brentford are pretty good at it. Its going to be a mixed approach anybody that says otherwise do not know what they are talking about

You’d expect his best mate to keep his powder dry in deference to CW’s position. Makes you wonder who’s top dog in that friendship.
I’d be pretty certain Wilders probably telling him to do it. They’re sat on holiday together, it’d be orettt straightforward to tell him “hang on Wit, don’t be a twat”

This thread now appears to be full of people calling out Wit for defending his mate in colourful terms…. whilst also being perfectly happy to call Wilder twat, shit, c@@t, dinosaur (and much more that I’ve read).
Fine if you want him gone … say so and explain why… but at least keep it respectful. We’re all Blades - and he is one of the greatest managers we have ever had (fact not opinion).
I’m not defending Wit but I’d also point out that COH are not exactly covering themselves with glory with such a complete lack of meaningful communication throughout their short tenure.

Data analysis isn’t just for identifying new players. For example even basic data analysis showed we conceded twice as many goals per 90 mins when Robinson played, and received significantly less points per game.

What exactly do you want them to communicate right now?

Well seeing as you misinterpreted my last paragraph - l wasn’t calling you either and in reality was surprised at the negativity in your post - it’s probably fair to wonder if you’ve taken the AI comment by the board as a defining policy rather than part of the plan. Now tell me, is “heavily” your word or theirs?

He’s a reporter who trades in information. It’s about as close to confirmation as you’ll get. Believe what you like.

He literally says IS in there, as in he’s asking a question.

I’ll believe stuff that’s reported as fact with a source.

If we was reporting it as fact he would say something like “my sources are telling me the leak has come from the club”

Not is someone in the club leaking stuff so he’ll quit?

I'm struggling to find any specific reference from them to 'AI'? Happy to be shown otherwise, but all I can find is references to more effective use of data and analytics

This Wit guy pissed me off first time around, and on steroids now. Who the f does he think he is?
I’ve been pretty much 50/50 on stay/go, but I find his mate’s behaviour galling, and the fact CW doesn’t wind him is a poor look.
