If he is insistent on retaining 4-2-3-1 where do we think he will focus?

Young players have got to play a part on a lower budget but I’m not sure they will.

He’ll aim for instant impact players rather than those he can develop. So I’m expecting very little surprises or left field signings:

G - Davies signs a year extension as Wilder won’t waste cash here. Faxon goes on loan. Grbic leaves for undisclosed fee.

D - He twists the board’s arm to get Walker as alternative to Seriki and RCB option. Souttar joins on loan. A few young players head out on loan. Zatterstrom and the lad loaned to Rotherham leave for undisclosed fees. RND moves out permanently. We fail to shift McGuinness.

M - We keep Brooks, but lose Peck to Brentford to make ends meet. We retain Riedewald and Arblaster and also take Choudhury from Leicester somehow. We fail to shift Rothwell. Davies leaves. Hamer moves back to The Netherlands for an undisclosed fee. O’Hare remains. Matos leaves. We try and fail to secure Phillips again.

F - Up front Campbell goes to the Auld Firm. We draft in someone like Josh Maja when his contract ends at WBA as a direct replacement. We hope to see Oné wide left yet spend all summer trying and failing to get Cleary from Barnsley and have to settle for a last minute loanee.

We keep Bamford as the main man, Marsh breaks into the first team squad and we almost sell Cannon but don’t and end up with a Bamford back up like Dykes in the last week of the window.

That is the answer I would get if I asked Alexa to give me a recruitment plan that would definitely get me to not renew my season ticket

players given a chance didnt play well. but thats on wilder as well, because take soumare for example out from the cold & straight in after playing 19 mins in 5 weeks. it does feel like they were set up to fail

All he had to do was keep it simple, keep formation.

McGuinness or Mee (Where the fuck is he?) for Bindon. Not sure why Bindon was being dropped over Tanganga anyway?
Hjelde for Burrows. Bring Burrows on second half.
Soumare for Jairo. Bring Jairo on second half.
Maybe start Ings for Bamford. Bring Bamford on second half.
Ogbene on the right and Brooks on the left. Second half bring Ogbene off and bring Hamer on.

No formation change or shape loss. Players know what they are doing rather than forcing a back 3/5 with 2 players brought in out of the cold.
