Christ, are you still stalking ?

When I was nine I didn't care about entertainment, skill, quality, and playing well either, as long as we won it didn't matter

But eventually you reach maturity, about 14 and you want a few of the finer things in life

I am also wise enough to know that if Wilder shits himself every time we have a tricky looking game, next season if we go up will be fucking torture
I’m not sure what your angle is here. We beat our rivals away and the first thing you think of doing is coming on here and slagging off the guy who’s done that and has got us over 80 points (technically) in 38 games.

An average of over 2 points a game is ridiculous. If that continues we’ll finish on 98 points which is a ridiculous. He can’t have ‘shit himself’ very often.

keep em coming funny man!

I wasn’t a massive fan of Wilders combined 30 minute rant, I just don’t think it was necessary.

However I then remembered a large section of their fans were singing about his daughter, objects were being thrown at the players when we scored & obviously Rohl trying to play mind games I can understand why he was wound up.

Their season isn’t over, you’ve seen how Coventry have turned their season around anything is possible in this league.

That said I was surprised how poor they were, if they wasn’t our rivals and we were to have to go down the play off route I’d prefer to play them over Bristol, West Brom & Coventry.

Rob on RS last night didn't go into his usual 5/10 minutes opening monologue/agenda set, almost nothing on the result, and nothing on the Wilder interview.
When he saw the way the show was going and the Wendy coming on were incensed at Wilder,he eventually played the devil's advocate card, his club, passion, derby win.The only thing he felt safe to be opinionated on was the throwing stuff,of course both sets to blame.
It's curious how Wendy have for decades gone down their history route to claim the better club than thee high ground, but when they got faced with Wilders alternative take on history, they couldn't stomach it,that's how two faced and one eyed they are,and they got it all thrown back in their faces good and proper.
.

Rohl has a team with a midtable wage budget sitting...mid table. Treated as a messiah.

Wilder got a team with a bottom half wage budget promoted. And then finished 9th in the Premier League with the smallest budget in the league.

There's levels to this managerial business.
Shows what he’s about but don’t let him loose with the finances if we go up
Get a Director of Football if we go up it’s essential

2 points clear at the top of the championship not fine enough ?

(bar the deduction)

Eventually you reach an age when you realise that there are differences between dreams and reality.

How many times did Wilder shit himself in the PL when we finished 9th ?

There is an obvious answer if you really think about it

After all the abuse That Sir Chris Wilder got from the wendy fans when he arrived at the stadium of Rust, ignored the scum carrier onto the dressing room in a very dignified manner. We beat them fair and square 1-0 no good sausage roll saying they deserve at least a draw well they got beat again. they had chances and did not score. we took our chance I am delighted for Brewster who scored. Sir Chris was 100% correct in his comments after the game. we are the top team in Sheffield. better stadium better academy and training ground etc. Now we have eight games to go joint top of the championship. We have a great chance of automatic promotion and I am confident we can to it In Sir Chris Wilder we trust,UTB

Still, some so-called Blade fans are not happy in the position we are in don't you think it is time to give it a rest and enjoy the ride to the Premier Division.

I think it must be just the youngsters that aren’t ‘appy.
All those who lived through the dark, depressing League 1 days of 2012-2016 have been amazed by the last few years.
I’d say for most of the older, wizened supporters who go back to the 60’s, the fact that we are now consistently competing at Upper Championship / Premier League level is beyond our wildest dreams.

Wednesday fans aren't upset about Wilder - they actually 'love it' according to Owls Talk

I am not sure anyone is upset are they?

I mean there is a man pushing 60 who is the manager of a professional football club and is on the verge of getting his beloved club promoted to the Premier league and has just done the double over his hated rivals and he spends 15 minutes ranting about Wednesday, can't enjoy the win because of his obsessing, I think most of us find it funny don't we. The man is showing that club and it's fans for what we all think they are, obsessed and only judge success as to where they stand vs us. I love it!

What a set of absolute braindeads on there - it's amazing reading

Do you think they believe what they are saying? It’s interesting, I don’t think this forum has many posters who make incredible claims about United, and by that I mean about the club and its history, about what we stand for, or that our fans are better people than everyone else. We have the occasional thread about how well we are currently doing (and even then, half the posters are claiming we are rubbish still and should sack the manager), but I never see any grandstanding about history, nobody going on about FA cup wins from years before they were born. In terms of success, take away their league cup and they have had very little to crow about for 70 years, ourselves 100 years. Yet they seem happy to somehow brag about those old victories as if they have any impact on today.
Is that how they really feel? Did it make them feel better when Brewster scored because they won the cup 35 years ago?

They keep writing things hoping something clicks in their brain and they start feeling better. It never happens

Hoping for the next 'Classier' to add to the other non-sensical ways of describing their club.

Danny is of course the messiah , a football genius ..although his points per game this season are pretty much identical to Heckys since he took over at PNE . Done this with 6 on his staff and not the 15 or so at S6.
I don't think Preston fans are shitting themselves everytime a top flight manager gets sacked.
So he's not the messiah , or a naughty boy , just a German with big hair .

Ironically, Hecky could be the nearest thing they have to Wilder - 'Ex player' (ish), young enough and currently in a job that's a comparable level. Maybe that the root of the Wilder hate. Simple jealously. They just don't have One of their own.

Pigs Not Wilder.webp

Wednesday fans seem to have this weird belief that the elite footballing world really misses them and is waiting for them to return to the top flight. Like the Premier League just isn't complete without them.

But they haven't been in the top division for 25 years. A big chunk of people who follow football now weren't even born then. And in reality, most casual football fans when asked about Wednesday would probably say: "Which division are they in nowadays?"

I do think it's a coping technique to stop them feeling so irrelevant and pointless - which unfortunately they are in the eyes of 99% of football fans.

I don't think we're this fallen giant/grand old club of English football. But at least we're known nationally and internationally because of our time in the Premier League.

And as Wilder said, it will inevitably shift back to them at some point, because that’s how it works in this city. There is very rarely parity between the sides.

To be fair to them, there would be a nostalgic thing for a lot of teams if they got promoted, Everton fans visiting an old stamping ground after a quarter of a century, but it’s a novelty.

I think the real point is that there is nothing between us in terms of history or achievement, not really. If we were being generous and say modern football started in the post WW2 era, they have won the grand total of 1 League cup, and us nothing (if we don’t count winning leagues or promotions) in that time. If that sets them apart from us then it’s not much of a brag. Wigan won an FA cup more recently for God’s sake! For both of us, our best times were around the turn of the previous century, with an FA cup for us in the 20s and a top flight league for them in the 30s.
So there is no shadow of greatness falling over us that we are desperate to get out of, the only thing is the bragging right of being currently the best team in the city.

Coming from a club who have an anniversary dinner for something which happened 46 years ago.

Yet completely ignore the fact that we put seven goals past them one derby game.

Selective history from the self proclaimed classy club.
