Chris Wilder almost walked away last season

I don't care what happens next season, we stay behind him. There will some testing games, in Chris's words, "we might get dicked a few times" but you can guarantee we'll improve and have a right go.

He's earned the right to be supported regardless, personally I think with a few improvements we can finish mid table, that would be classed as really successful

He was very close to walking.

I personally gave him a call and told him to give it 1 more year and he'll take us to the promised land.

I think everyone here owes me a pint.

So you told him to give it just 1 more year?
You bastard. Everyone owes you a punch.

How would you feel if we were five points adrift at the bottom at Christmas?

I'm sure the vast majority of fans would want to stick with CW with the expectation that it would come good. But would a foreign owner like HRH feel the same loyalty? I doubt it.

If/when we're five points adrift at Christmas, I genuinely don't think the bulk of the crowd would turn against CW. Before Chris The Redeemer arrived, we'd averaged 18,886 over five dismal seasons in Division One, under some truly shocking managers. We - and now Chris - have been on a journey and formed a bond that won't easily be broken. There's no clackers at Bramall Lane.

Now if 'a foreign owner like HRH' sacked CW, he'd feel the utter wrath of the fans.
That last game, down in Bristol, when he walked over to the fans after the final whistle, it really did look like he was waving goodbye, it wasn't his usual chest-thumping style. I was really worried he was leaving.

Thank god he didn't!

That day, Chris had been on the Peroni. What he actually said after the match was 'You're my best friend, you are!' :D
