Personally I'm not clamouring for wilder to be in the spotlight anymore than he already is... I know he's s blade and committed 100% in his "dream job" etc..
But money talks, and I've seen it all before.. he's been voted the best manager outside the premiership hasn't he? Managing in league 2 last year and league one... surely somebody will come knocking at some point with mega bucks if he keeps winning, how could he turn down 50k a week as a premier league manager??? (What do they earn roughly, I don't know)
Tezza,
I keep saying this.....
Look at Chris's CV.
He's been a manager for 15 years, mainly in non league football and a little in league 2.
His honours are won some trophies 1 season in the non league with Halifax
1 promotion with non league Oxford via the playoffs
And 1 league title in league 2 with Northampton.
He's no experiance managing a big club, never had money, never managed well paid players with big egos. He probably has the worse cv of all McCabes managerial appointments but obviously McCabe must have been impressed with his interview and used intuition to give him a chance.
A PL club has plenty of money.
They tend to choose foreign managers, former big named players or tried and tested top class cv's.
There would be a revolt amongst fans if they appointed Chris Wilder and seen as as embarrassing and totally left field if a PL showed interest in CW.
Seriously it would be like us appointing Brian the Blade because he won the league and cup double with a pub team in Concord park.
Also let's not forget Wilder has achieved very little so far.
He needs to have some cup runs beating some PL teams before he gets noticed nationally.
I reckon most of the country won't even know who Chris Wilder is
But I reckon over the next few years they will.
