City fan at work told me today he'd heard we're interested in him. Anyone else heard owt???

He'd be decent in this league, personally can't see it happening though but you never know!

I just can't see how we can bring players in who are on championship wages (maybe even a low premiership wage) when we haven't got a pot to p1ss in and we have got to reduce the wage bill

To me, it seems much more plausible, that we will be after lge 1 and 2 players, whereby we can actually compete and manage a wage bill that we have to reduce down to.

Add to that, he'll probably be in demand at other championship clubs offering a higher standard of football and higher wages (it's the same scenario as Baldock really)

I do hope I'm wrong tho! :)

Could it be a sweetener in a deal for Matty Lowton? Season long loan perhaps with them paying most or all of his wage

This is what i thought stanny.

And, i believe Lambert is interested in Naughton who City had on loan from Spurs last season, so, as stanny say's, it could be a sweetener for Lowton. Who knows??

Just seen that Derby have said Reading can take him on loan if they want with a view to buy option at the end of the season, could this be an option for us seen as though we have more of a chance of promotion than Reading, or do you think we’re already adequately covered in this area?

My thoughts are that wages could be a slight issue but otherwise he’d be a great addition with some great Championship experience and he would be an upgrade on most of our strikers.

What’s your thoughts on him as a player and what sort of role he could play for us?

It’s obviously not a rumour, just after some views on him.

Think he is still singing for Coldplay to be honest Wiz?

He would be a great signing

As would Cameron Jerome

Both of them would be excellent signings but I think we’ve spent our money this season.

In the summer we need to be looking at these players

0% chance of this happening. Wages, questionable attitude (did you see his behaviour whilst a Fulham when he wanted to go back to Derby - he practically went of strike?) = not a CW player

Didn’t think he had a bad attitude? He never went on strike at Fulham, I think he played almost every game when he was there.

Can't justify a striker like that before having quite a clear out.

And we simply don't need him.

I have a feeling a couple of strikers could be on their way out before the end of January, that’s part of the reason why I suggested it.

I always think we need better players Ricky, and he is indeed that imo.

Not a realistic option imho anyway but a player I like nonetheless

We have Clarke in the form of his life. Donaldson still has plenty to offer and has done well. There's more to come from Sharp. Then there's Wilson, Ched and Lavery!

On top of that, if we're to sign a prominent, established striker like Martin, then that limits Brooks' chances as he's most likely to play as a second striker. And we should really be getting him in the team when he's fit.

Summer is the time to overhaul our striking options if we must. For me we just go with what we've got for now. It's more than enough.

Can’t say any fairer than that, although Brooks can play other roles. His best role is on the last man causing havoc though so I can see your point.

I do think he would improve us though and that’s why I suggested him but I do appreciate everyone’s views.

Why is he not realistic Dav?

No Premier clubs after him and we’re a better club than Reading imo. It all depends on what sort of wages he’d want and that’s probably where Mr Madjeski comes into it I suppose, I still wouldn’t say it was unrealistic though mate.
