All awesome. Great defending....bloody Nigel Clough looks smug....he's on BTSport now.

Toss up between Basham and Coutts for me for man of the match.

The only players who didn't play well were Sammon (who I thought was mosty woeful) and Sharp (who got absolutely nothing to feed off)

Wow! Some of these players really should hang their heads in shame.

Tik a bew son. Outstanding.

UTB
Agree, covered so much ground. Today was very much about work rate, covering ground, defending, determination, concentration and Basham was superb. He's a very good athlete. We need to realise that we do have some good players, if not "complete" players. If we can just find the right mix, get the balance right, make our players do what they're good at in each game, we have a good chance still.

I thought both Coutts and Basham had great games today but Coutts just edged it for me. He looked a class above, composed in possession and used the ball well.
The whole team deserves praise, it was a great well organised performance, albeit we wouldn't have scored if we'd still been playing now.

Connor Sammon, tik a seat son.

If we had "complete" players, they'd be off pretty sharpish or they'd be injury prone and rarely available. We're League 1 and that means we'll always have players who have an aspect of their play that is lacking or won't have anything standout. Guys like Basham who we'd do well to appreciate more. If every player in our squad had his attitude, we'd be top of the league.

Thought Basham was a bit hit and miss to be honest, a few times we had the chance to break and he hit passes aimlessly off the side of the pitch. Kind of Monty-esque really, a bit more composure after winning the ball and we might have created more rather than just giving it back to them. Coutts was very good today and even looked like he had the ability to run.

But not if they had his shooting boots:)

Guys like Basham need to perform at league one grounds week in week out, not just Old Trafford

All the team played well as a defensive unit but I hope it doesn't mask the fact that we still need a proper centre half and target man in January. There was never going to be any physical/aerial issues yesterday against Premier prima-donas but come Tuesday when we're back to the pub league it's all about standing up against clog.
