For those of you interested in this fixture due to it being so close by, i will be finding out chesterfields fixtures on tuesday, derbyshire police get them before they are released so they can do some juggling if needed, they are only provisional but quite reliable as the only fixture that would stop it going ahead on the given date would be Pigs v Huddersfield at swillsborough so i have been told. Just a friend of a friend will obviously get the home fixture as well. Just a heads up if anyone knows a mate or family at south yorkshire police am sure the same applies worth an ask.

good stuff dave, every little helps as the B2Nets neighbours say ;)

Chesterfield is the one i'm most looking forward to.

I love the local derbies against the likes of Rotherham, Doncaster, Dingles and Chesterfield.

Theres obvioulsy always rivalry, but its not like playing the Pigs and Leeds, they carry an altogether nasty atmosphere, whereas the others are more fun and I tend to enjoy the day more. That said, the Pigs has always been a bit of a dilema for me. I never wanted to go to the sty for a derby game, until last time, when I had a ticket, but the chuffing Ash cloud meant that my flight was cancelled.

I also went to a Charity do at the B2net the other week. Got to say for a little/ new ground its impressive, in the world of "bowl" stadia, Chesterfield is a proper 4 sider. Their corporate facilities are excellent too. Cracking food, so I'm hoping the pies will be decent.

Its a little out of town for my liking though, there are a couple of pubs around, but better off drinking in town, although I imagine there will be a lot of restrictions on pubs. So i'll just drink at my flat with the lads and walk over :)

Big bogey side. Did we ever win at Saltergate?

Back to the memories of the 3rd tier, they went down, we went up, but they still did the double over us, a fact made keeny aware to this young blade attending secondary school in Chesterfield at the time...

I believe there are shuttle busses from the 'taarn' centre. In all fairness, there is nothing in Chezzy centre that there isnt on Shit Moor/walking distance of the ground.

PS. Swiss, given that your flat is within walking distance of the B2Net, do you ever drink in The Cricketers?

I'm enjoying only a 15 min drive to the match, parking at the mother in laws for a full English, walking down to the Derby Tup and then watching the match.

I fact that I think we will get turned over is the only downside.

Swiss, I'm guessing your flat must be overlooking the canal near the lockkeeper.

Snap as long as it isn't mid week

Wow I'll see you at my mother in laws then Dave, never knew you were accquainted :)

I see this as a season opener to be honest, only way I think it will be different is if the piggy get there usual average attendance help with Chesterfield at home first game.

the b2 net is actually EQUIDISTANT to the lane from my house

according to google maps

god Ive got too much time on my hands today

If you do post, be very careful where you put it. I would suggest the P&T as Foxy & Linz have e-mails before about posting fixtures without a licence :)

I can't think of a win there during our last visits to the third division, and looking through my now out of date record books I can only find one United win at Chesterfield, and that was in 1951!

Our record there in my lifetime

5/1/80 D3 L1-2 (Busby)
31/7/80 ASC L0-1
11/11/80 D3 L0-1
16/12/80 FAC L0-1
21/1/81 FLGC D1-1 (Trusson)
28/12/82 D3 L1-3 (Trusson)
25/3/89 D3 L1-2 (Bryson)

Oh dear :-(

As far as Im aware the fixtures arent released to anyone before the release date
police objections only surface after the release , the clubs only get an email 1 hour before the press
I had this chat with Andy Daykin , who was commercial manager and a class mate of mine and he assured me no one knows the draft until that morning , and only the 5 members of the fixtures committee at the football league know the final draft 24 hours before that, after theyve spent weeks avoiding fixture clashes from questionaires sent to all clubs, and consulting with wembley over dates to avoid.

Sky has no control over fixture dates in the prem , which is the only thing they dont control surprisingly , which its why theres always a few days before live games schedules begin to appear
The day sky announces its opening day coverage on fixtures release day will be when we know its released prior to the official release

The Stir reporting today that there maybe only 1000 tickets available to us and the Pigs for the games at the B2Net.

I thought it might be sold out. I was thinking of maybe shelling out for a box (no jokes pls)
