Why would Chelsea give him an improved contract at the start of the season which he signed!. Now they're suddenly saying a few months later that he can go as he's surplus to requirements?.

Let's just imagine.......if JB's fee is approximately close to the one suggested, and if he can be persuaded to take a drop in wages (unless we somehow, miraculously, find ourselves in the position of being promoted), then yes, the fella's a steal at that price. Even if you added the same again, Blackman would still be worth signing. We currently have two decent keepers, and it's not beyond imagining that Blackman's addition to the squad has kept both keeper's on their toes. Competition has obviously kept Moore and Blackman keen to compete for the position of United's number one keeper, and from what I've seen JB has edged it with consistently good performances.
