I’d imagine this is pretty much about right. Chelsea ask lower than market fees so they can insert Buy backs clauses. The beauty of which is they will never exercise it.

I see it like this with GKs and CBs if they show proven ability at a young age and the right level then go for them. If we are honest £1.5m may seem a chunk to us now but if he’s still No1 in 10 years then it’s a steal.

Dodgy source, with a rather guessed at figure. Whatever the fee people, that will never be the issue. His salary at Chelsea will be way above anything we can offer. Lower PL teams and Championship with parachute payments are more likely to get near his salary level.
