Cheering the goal

One of the crappest games of football I've ever had the misery of watching.

When I say watch, I mean glance up from my phone occassionally when I forced myself away from the bar. Oh, and when I say football..........

Go Blackwell and Ellis, now please.

They proroably didn't - aren't all season tickets included whether there or absent!!

Is this right? if so I have learned something today, which is better than going to bed thinking all I had done is watch that shite.

I honestly thought they used the number of "registers" on the turnstiles.

That's done it for me today. I can't remember the last time I felt so miserable at BDTBL. There are people out there stealing a living. Jordan Stewart - why is this man anywhere near Bramall Lane? They'd honestly be better trying out an U-18 player. I bet he earns a fortune too, it's disgusting.

Fed up with everything. Fed up with rubbish players, rubbish football, no discernible tactics, no discernible direction for the future, the atmosphere's rubbish and I just can't be arsed with any of it.

I'm considering not bothering with the remaining fixtures and writing a letter to the club containing my card and reasons why I won't be needing it any longer.

The thing is though, I don't even know if I can be arsed to do that. I know that I won't be listened to so there's little point. That's it for me though. I'm sure I'll feel more positive at the start of the new season but I'm definitely not renewing. It's not the money, it's just not worth my time.

If everybody is so fucked off, why don't you all get round to the car park after the game and make your feelings known?

No matter how bad it gets, week after mind-numbing week, all folk seem to want to do is rush out of the ground to their own little moaning corner of the world. The piss-heads can't wait to get back to the pub for a moan, the loaners can't wait to get home to kick the dog/cat/other half, the brain dead pick up a phone to ring P&G and everyone with an SUFC fan's forum account can't wait to get in so they can hammer away at the keyboard but nobody - that's NOBODY can be arsed, it seems, to do the one thing that might make the powers that be take notice.

For fucks sake, if you feel that strongly, get off you collective arses and do something about it and I don't mean start another pretty internet poll so that we can all see at a glance in different colours what we all know is the bleedin obvious. Do something that the top brass at the club will have to address - ie stand outside the fecking boardroom making your feelings known. Take your shoes off if it floats your boat or you can even wave your fecking under keks around your head for all I care but for fecks sake, either put up or shut up.

This coming from a man who has a cartoon cat as a scratch DJ .... Pathetic !!

What a strange post JBB.

Very strange.

There's no way you'll find me at a car park demo, it's not something I've ever done and I doubt I'll ever agree with it. If I were to voice my concerns, it would be in the form of a letter as I mentioned. I think it would be ignored, but I think me standing in the car park on my own shouting would also be ignored (though perhaps not by security, who would cart me away in a white van).

I haven't the time nor the desire to gather together several hundred meatheads to start a protest, I'll leave that to Blades Mad. Thing is, I don't agree with a lot of the things they trot out, which is perhaps why you won't find me in the car park.

I was stood applauding a quality header from a player who spent the afternoon giving his all for the Blades cause myself. The lad must have covered some right ground today in comparison with a few others.

As for it being one of the worse or one of the crappest games people have seen, it wasn't good by any stretch of the imagination, but christ you've been lucky if that was the lowest benchmark of crapness you've seen!

There's nothing to be 'excited' about as such without Ward and Williamson, they offer creativity and a threat on the opposition's goal in Ward's case. Without chances being created, I find it highly unlikely that entertaining football is going to be played - or someone's perception of entertaining football is going to be played.

I was quite pleased with a couple/few of the team's performances today. Creswell, Bunn and Monty, I thought, were our best players. Glen Little also impressed me when he came on.

It was a diluted celebration for the goal though, I must admit. I didn't find the match boring though - quite enjoyed it if I must say so.

I just want to be entertained - missed the last 2 home games. Thus far, I'm struggling to think of when the Blades have actually captivated me this season.

but christ you've been lucky if that was the lowest benchmark of crapness you've seen!

It wasn't so much that for me, but it's definitely the first time I've sat and stared into space, huffing and puffing my cheeks with "couldn't actually care less, would rather be elsewhere" apathy.

I'm not sure why my breaking point was today, it's not even as if we lost.

The car park demo's got rid of Robson, without doubt. His "football" would have got him the sack soon after either way, but car park demo's do work. The club can't handle the publicity, and are probably as apathetic as the fan base right now, so need the push.

This has been quieried before.Only fans who turn up are in the attendance figures. (health a safety reasons?).

They can tell now tell you how many season ticket holders havent turned up each game due to this new electronic sytem.

ignore them mate.. thats one of the best posts i've read for some time

But why? I honestly don't get it.

So people aren't allowed to whinge on here?

Let's flip it. If people are so happy when we're doing well, why don't they go and film themselves having a wank in Blades shirt before sending the video to Bramall Lane to show McCabe and co how delighted they are?

It's a discussion forum ffs. To suggest that you're only entitled to complain if you couple it with some direct activism is ridiculous.

I hope no one complains about the economy or the state of the NHS on here. If they do they might receive a broadside from JBB telling them they're only entitled to do so if they plant some gunpowder under the Commons.

Shit. I've just complained about JBB's post. I suppose I need to go and brick his windows and key his car now to show how really pissed off I am.

Like I said last night, I think the apathy has well and truly set in. I don't particularly agree with the car park demo (I don't think McCabe would react like last time as he doesn't want us in the car park every time we don't agree with summat) but some other kind of mass protest would be useful, i.e. not going into seats until 3:15, a mass turning of the backs etc ...

The problem is that people are just far too apathetic now. Under RObson, we were still fired up from the Tevez saga (the injustice of that still lingers but not as strong) and we were threatening to get involved in the relegation fight. There was no excuse at all and he had completely capitualated in the Sheffield derby. At that point, we cared enough.

Witness the goal celebrations yesterday. How many forced themselves up to clap what was a great goal in truth - how did Cresswell manage to get the header away like that? I got to my feet and clapped Cresswell but I didn't feel the elation.

And I believe that apathy is leading so many to think about not renewing season tickets rather than demo. It's the easy option.

Isn't this a sign that, deep down, we all know that there is now nothing to play for therefore there is no 'edge' to games.

Yesterday reminded me of many games during Wanock era when we were mid table and going no where during the last few games of the season.

Please write that letter. I know that McCabe does read them. Send a copy to Birch - it might wake him up.

Public opinion does count in the end.

Like I said, whatever floats your boat. Could work for some people.

So people aren't allowed to whinge on here?

To suggest that you're only entitled to complain if you couple it with some direct activism is ridiculous. .

So where in my post does it suggest that? If you read it properly, it says that I - that's me, Jon Bon - am sick to the back teeth with hearing people complain and whinge time and time and time again about the same thing, without having the nous or the gumption to do something positive about it. That doesn't say that you're not entitled to complain without direct action, does it?

With the amount of folk moaning and whinging around me on the Kop yesterday, those ringing P&G to moan and those on here and other forums, you would have thought that out of a crowd of 23,000, there would have been more than the dozen or so in the car park who felt strongly enough about the club and the current situation to want to try to make their feelings known to the top brass.

I didn't find the match boring though - quite enjoyed it if I must say so.

I wanted to cry at times watching the entire game seemingly unfold in Jordan Stewart's area of the pitch. He actually played OK by his standards, but sheer number of headers and punts into touch from that lad was incredible.

It was like rugby union without the latent homosexuality.

My thoughts exactly. I hold my head in my hands evey time the ball goes near him. I agree that he was ok by his standards but as you say, the number of balls into touch was unbelievable! Even worse was that some of them were intended to be passes!!!
