He’s going for game time to get up to speed. He needs few months there. If he bangs the goals in excellent we bring him back. If he does alright we have option to sell or to loan him out again.

Because Evans has a contract whereas Donaldson’s expired at the end of the season.
 
Good move for both parties if it comes off. He needs game time and won’t get that with us.

Well we are looking very thin on strikers, so I hope we have some new players coming in.

Yeah I get that.
If he bangs them in though this season great but if we can't get him back until 2019/2020 then it seems a waste.
I'm all for him getting match fit and some confidence back but (even more so no

It's the full season part that I don't like. It's fine for any other position but for a goal scorer I'd like it to until January then extend it or have the option to recall him.
He will be 30 when he comes back to us now.

I doubt there are any of these sorts of loan now where if it’s for a full season there isn’t an option to end it in January. It’s frankly in the interests of both parties to an extent – eg Bradford returning us a disappointing McNulty in the promotion year, and us sending CCV back to Spurs when it was clear his opportunities would be limited in the 2nd half of the season.

I’ll add that there’s little chance Fleetwood would take him without a clause to end it in January, given his recent fitness record.
 
Don't see him ever being an effective Championship player. There's no evidence in the last 5 years that he can even contribute while staying fit in L1.

Only way this wasn't a complete waste of money is if we would have been on the end of some sort of legal action if we hadn't signed him from Chesterfield.

Not a single club in the country would have paid a fee for him or done anything more than a 12 month deal. Who were we bidding against???? The whole thing just seems dodgy

Haha, fuck him. Dragged our clubs name and his family’s through mud. Had 1 good season, should never have come back. Poor decision again by McCabe. Good riddance.
