Sky have just shown the disallowed goal using a split screen. The left side shows the penalty area and the ball being struck. The right side shows a close up of the bodies in the box. It makes it look like it was offside. However, look closely if you get a chance to see it. The still image on the right is not taken as the ball is struck, it has been frozen a split second later as the ball is in flight. It makes it look like an offside but clearly it wasn't. It has been frozen after O'Connell moves beyond the defender. Take a look at Leon in both images, he is in 2 different poses yet sky are claiming that the image on the right I simply a better view.
