Can't believe he's still only 22. Seems to have been around for years.

We ll have a sell on so that would count as discount if we bought him back. Tbh he's probably a great shout. 22. Scores from close in and distance. Strong. Fast.
Preferable to Hogan or similar. Bit like Assomballonga but way cheaper to get his name on your shirt.

The lad must regret leaving us.
Bet Wilder would improve him too
Both the Blades and Evans destined to play in the Premier next season.
Rapid success on both sides, just taken different routes.
Billy came home to truly blossom into a legend, maybe time for Che to do the same?

It would be nice, but whilst BDTBL is very much Billy's 'home', it's not really Adams. Not saying it couldn't happen, but we would have to show that we were the best move for his career as I'm not sure he's sitting around at Birmingham pining for a move back here.

He said he's still in touch with Billy who has been helping him with stuff...

Sky showed that mad 5 5 Swindon game the other day. His goal was absolute quality. If we get a 10/20% discount via sell in clause it wouldn't shock me if we went in for him...

I was just marvelling at a quote LoughboroBlade found from Wilder saying Adams had matured a lot recently. Been keeping tabs on him then Chris?
This is the sort of 'risk' I'd like United to take and he brings speed to the front line. I'd like to think B'rum need to sell to set their FFP accounts right but I'm sure the ineffective points deduction has probably taken care of that.

Should have never sold him for peanuts ridiculous decision selling someone that young for so little

He wanted to leave so Wilder didn't stand in his way and at the time he was a right cocky little shit, so letting him go solved that problem too.

Seems to have sorted himself out attitude wise though and would certainly be capable of the step up so maybe, who knows. But I suspect a Burnley/Brighton/Leicester/ Palace/Southampton could offer him 20k more a week than we could at the moment.

Not at all disagreeing with you, but where does this come from, the cocky little shit thing? What did he say?

In all honesty, the absolute state of us under Adkins, I would have been looking for another club as well if I were him. He wasn't to know at the time what Wilder would do with us.

On another thread I mentioned that shortly after he left us I met a man who was his coach at Ilkeston and also the mans son who played with Ched. Both of them said that he was a good lad, they were pleased for him and wished him well.

He may have said something daft when he left us in the First Division to go to a Championship club on loads more money, but he was a teenager then. In comparison to Madine and Evans he did nothing that out of order.

I'd have him back in preference to most of the other options suggested. People at the Lane know him, and if Wilder wanted him then it would mean he passed the character test. We have a bit of an advantage in that our sell on clause will lower the price to us. Whether or not he would come to us if Leicester his home town club were in for him is another matter. Hopefully, if he goes elsewhere it's for a huge fee and we get a substantial amount to put toward bringing in someone else.

It's just what I heard anecdotally and once or twice saw when seeing him out on the town. I realise that isn't in any way the best situation to judge anyone but feedback from other supporters suggested a young lad who quickly thought he was too good for SUFC, and didn't mind telling people that.
His tweet upon joining Brum seemed to back this up too, thought he was joining the big time and leaving us to rot in league 1, which considering how bad we were back then wasn't entirely inaccurate, but there really was no need to dish it out to a fanbase who had cheered him on and wanted him to do well.

Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely have him back if Chris wanted him. No issues there at all, as I said in my post I think he could make the step up.

See my reply to tomtheblade re attitude. I don't doubt he is a good lad at heart, certainly seems to be now, but from what I heard/saw he was a bit full of himself and perhaps thought he was too good for us? It happens with the young uns.

Both interesting points. Add in the “discount” that comes with our reported sell on fee (20% Im told?) and he starts ticking a lot of boxes; young, talented, pacey, confident, re-sale value, good age and with a maturing character. Billy must see something in the lads personality, otherwise why stay in touch? Every chance we get priced out, but would hope we are looking at the situation.

Unitedites talk a lot about going backwards with players and some of it makes no sense at all, this one does however make sense..

Not a gamble as I see it, unlike naughton and jags (I know they’re rumours, but so is this one) want my advice, expect a name when he signs.. we’ve never been so in the dark in the past as we are now regarding signings.

Some people on here got their knickers in a twist because he tweeted something along the lines of "moving to a bigger club" (or something of that nature) on Twitter.

He was 18 (?) at the time and moving up into the Championship from League One, and quickly deleted the post and apologised when a few Blades replied.

Mountain/molehill. I'd be happy to have him back.

He is just the type we want, physical, quick thinking, confident, young and likes scoring goals, just behind Billy in this seasons final list.

He was only a kid! Still is. They say daft things without thinking all the time. I suspect he was just gassed about his move and rightly so.

I can't see it, bit I'd love him back.

Has all the physical attributes to be play in the PL and seems to have gone on leaps and bounds in the last year or so in terms of the rest of his game.
