So was talking at work, assuming we could just rerun the game again and again how many before you think we would win one. I think we would fluke a win 1 time in 20 and was told I was wildly optimistic. I know City are a lot better than us but I still think it is 11 blokes against 11 blokes at the end of the day so you always have a punchers chance

If City play a full team then you'd probably need to go higher.

If they rest Haaland and a few more then I'd give us a 5% chance on current form. If their form goes off like earlier in the season, that becomes higher. We can't beat an on form full first team. They'd have to have 2 players sent off to give us a chance.

Not at Wembley. Massive pitch and big space between pitch and fans, they'll stretch us so bad.
If we had them in a one-off game at Lane, we'd have a slight chance.
Wembley's pitch is 4m longer and 1m wider than ours which isn't a huge difference. The main difference is the shallow lower tier and the gap around the pitch which makes it feel much bigger.

Can't see how we win this at all! Pigging sick of going down to Wembley to see us not turn up and subsequently lose to a team we had a chance of beating. Odd feeling this time as they are so much better than anything we have faced before. Just hope we turn up and give them a game. A 2 - 0 defeat would be a dam good show vs their full team. Would I take it now? No chance! Seems there is always hope no matter how miniscule. Come on you Blades!

Bookies currently giving a best price of 16/1 for us to win. Between 14/1 and 12/1 generally. So thats between a 6% and 8% chance of winning. Taking the overround you’re probably looking at 20/1 as the true value price giving us just under a 5% chance.

I’ve actually answered 1 in 20. The variables will depend on what type of team City put out but generally I think if you played it 20 times we’d absolutely shithouse one. Just hope Hecky saves his game so he can have another go when he reloads his laptop.

I wont be backing us with any cold hard cash anyway.

Interesting... Randomly looking at the odds for us 'to qualify' for final which is generally between 10/1 and 17/2(!?!) Which is 9-11% so what's that with overround? 7-8% chance? Whatever it is, the bookies seen to have a lot more confidence in us getting to the final than we do !!!

All we’ve got is attitude. If Man City for one reason or another come into the game thinking it’ll be a stroll (very unlikely), we might have a speck of a chance. From our point view, every single player has got to have the game of their life. It’s not impossible and they are only human beings all said and done…Oops, forgot about the cyborg.

Would be very United of us to lose to Pigs, Palace, Burnley & Huddersfield and then……

This team is not too dissimilar from our 1st PL team, except with a few notable drop offs (JOC, Hendo, Lundstram, Stevens, Fleck, Mousset) but also a few notable additions (Illiman, Berge, Anel, Bogle)

On our day that season we’d turn over anyone. Chelsea Away? Everton unbeaten in a whole calendar year at Goodison? No Problem…

This team is the one that also turned over a full strength Tottenham team fairly comfortably in the cup. We’ve earned our position.

I know City are a complete different kettle of fish to the above teams, but we CAN mix it with the top dogs! Don’t be mistaken! I don’t think it will be the mauling we’re all fearing, i’m going to go with 3-1 to city

It’s roughly about that yeah. Would depend on the bookie but on football they generally work between 102% and 105% depending on the market.

More space for Iliman.😍

We’ve got 1 shot at it! That’s all that matters!

How’s the luck!!
If we get lucky, shots hit Wes rather than either side of him, hit the post and crossbar and bounce kindly…we have one cross and it drops kindly..,defend for our lives and run and run then you never know.

However, it would need that amount of luck…or a complete City meltdown and a player or two sent off for the game to be a level playing field. I don’t see Hecky setting us up to go after them so expect him to try and defend and get through until 70-80 mins before hoping that bringing on Sharp as first sub will make all the difference!!

Sure i read somewhere that Wembley has the biggest field of play in Europe? Yes 'only' 4m longer, but that's an extra 2m down the flank in each half.

Main reasoning behind saying we stand no chance versus Man City at Wembley is that they're used to it. They're World Class stars who play there regularly for club and country. A lot of our players it's their first ever appearance there. The occasion can, and probably will get the better of them.

I don't think it will be an embarrassment, but 3 or 4 nil. If we had drawn them at home in the Quarters, i would've given us a slim chance. Not at Wembley

If the whole pitch was used Wembley would be biggest but it's limited by UEFA and FA rules and is 115x74 yards (8,510 sq yd)*. The Etihad's is bigger at 116x77 yards (8,932 sq yds) whereas ours would be second smallest in the Premier League at 110.5x74.5 yards (8,232 sq yds). Only Palace's pitch at Selhurst Park is smaller out of the PL teams (110x74 yards), surprisingly Liverpool's is next at the same length and only 0.5 yards wider (110x75).

*exactly the same as the Camp Nou, the Bernabeu and the San Siro. Vaulted company.

I don't doubt we'll lose by the way. The heatmap of our players will be entirely in our half and probably concentrated just outside our area.

city have already lost 2 games this season to teams in red white , brentford and southampton
and in our history we have met 6 times in the fa cup and weve won all 6
and last time I looked man city players were humans not terminators from the future
depends how knackered they are after playing Bayern on the wednesday before

when we were in the prem and we lost 1-0 at the Etihad Pep praised our dominating them in the first half and our overall effort

we are where we are now on sound defensive cohesion and spreading the goals around, we have the tools to compete

think we are better equipped to challenge city than Burnleys too far up the pitch tactic which back fired on them

We are going to lose, but I don't give a flying fart. Citeh are far superior to us in so many ways so a close defeat would be acceptable. Anyone that thinks we will win needs to get a grip 🤣

We are going down there to enjoy the day and hopefully a great atmosphere. It's the first time that we are going to Wembley with no pressure and no horrible nervousnous.

We are not going to win so we will enjoy the day out, few bevvies and some grub with hotel stop over - steady drive back up the next day.
