Theres been no denying for CW that we are after a centre half which is why we are also continuing the chase for Darragh Lenihan. So I've just compiled a list of other options which all of us can have a moan over.
Feel free to add any other players who you might find suitable;
Curtis Nelson
Murray Wallace
Nathan Cameron
David Wheater
Mark Beevers
Paul Digby
Aaron Pierre
Alex Baptiste
Cian Bolger
Donervan Daniels
Byron Webster
Darragh Lehninan
Luke Chambers
Semi Ajayi
Gordon Greer
Dael Fry
Sonny Bradley
Paul Huntington
Kyle McFadzean
Connor Goldson

Seriously, who are 95% of those players?

A lot of those names look a bit League One-ish.

I don't think we're desperate for a new centre back at all and can very comfortably start the season with what we've got. Same goes for every other area of the pitch really. Although I suspect we'll need another striker.

Lenihan is clearly the main target but some others we could look at are Fikayo Tomori, Alex Baptiste, Ryan Shotton and Sean Raggett. As far as I'm concerned we're looking for someone who can play on the right side, we're sorted centrally with Stearman and Wright. The first three are all ideal for that position. I've not seen much of Raggett but he seems very highly rated at Lincoln and Norwich have apparently bid for him. Might be one we can get, and could be great value.

Theres a lad at Forest Green who's very highly rated but think there's a million pound price tag on him and I don't think he should be worth that having never experienced football higher than Non League up to the new season which is the same as Ragett but they could be worth a punt.
Shottons wages could be the issue, heard Middlesborough are interested. Think Baptiste would be a really good fit for the role on the right side. And don't really know anything on Tomori if I'm honest.
I mean this list is just really some options which have just been put together and some on there say would defo do a job.

Tomori is a brilliant athlete and quite good on the ball, made for the RCB role. I saw him for England U20s. Chelsea wouldn't loan him out if he wasn't going to play regularly though.

The lad I was on about was Ethan Pinnock however just found out he signed for Barnsley last month, and you never know about Tomori, Chelsea loaned us Blackman without assurances. Tbh think Wilder will be after someone with Championship experience.

The lad your talking about is Pinnock I think mate he joined Barnsley a few weeks ago .

Yeah mate that's him, saw he was highly rated but think one million is to steep.

Thought we'd try for Tommy Elphick from Villa but probably he expects to join a more 'top six' side plus wage issue. I think Sunderland were interested.

Isn't Goldson recovering from a heart condition at the moment?

Also, I think Greer was just turned down after a trial at Bradford - not a good omen.

Be interesting to see what Plan B is should we get close to the window closing and progress still not being made on Lenihan. Though I trust Wilder has probably got plans B through to Z.

Not sure about the pair of them, tbh I did it a while back and forgot to put it on here, got the same for other positions so might chuck them on later;)

Sean Raggett -Lincoln City my shout.

Ricky mentioned him last night, only really know that he's rated very highly but don't know much more of the lad in truth. Do you think we'd go in for someone whose not had experience higher than Non-League who would be a rather crucial centre half imo?

Raggett would be a good call but possibly not ready yet to step up 3 divisions so maybe as back up. However Lincoln have sold 6k season tickets and signed some good lower league players so they would want plenty of money for him.

I think Alex Baptiste always look good for us and was always barking orders and didn't think twice about getting stuck in get him signed CW

Not sure, but he fits the profile of the sort of player we usually target.

Been banging on about this kid since i saw him last year, and a couple more trips to Sincil Bank just confirmed what I think, he`ll play in the Premiership.

Kyle Mcfazdean was in the Meadowhall Nando's yesterday.
Hopefully he takes Brayford back to Burton with him

Didn't Greer sign for Kilmarnock or someone like that?

Only ones I'd consider looking at from those are Goldson, Digby and Huntington.

Greer signed for a Scottish team this week, can't remember who.

Depending on whether Wolves sign any more extautionately priced defenders I'd like us to go for Danny Batth. Would prob need to pay upwards of £1m for him though

Kolo Toure is a free agent.

Only player to be a part of 2 invincible teams ;)
