Must admit I couldn't believe it in his post match interview when said he and the team didn't speak much during the week about it being a derby. I bet Wilder might have mentioned it more than a few times and what it means.

To be fair, Carlos is a million % better than Flopson, just you should NEVER say the Derby is "another 3 points".

Carloss has done quite well for them a couple of playoffs ,his failing is he spent too much money on a group of losers who play as individuals. The whole pack of them have over inflated egos easy meat for a determined close knit group.Let's not forget Wilder built a Championship team in Division One they ran away with the league and amassed 100 points.

Firstly, I said on here that the teams who get anything at Hillsborough are usually the stiflers. I was proven wrong yesterday, although I couldn't have predicted such a shambolic defensive display. Clarke for England, that's what I say. Ha ha. But a thoroughly convincing and deserved victory.

Wednesday played in a similar fashion to United two seasons ago, but that season was about entertainment rather than promotion. There was no pressure, the Owls were an unknown quantity, underestimated, and without two play-off defeats on their backs.

Carlos believes that a non-parachute club can only gain promotion from this division through pragmatism (think 'Boro two seasons ago). Actually, I agree with him (think Fulham last season), because I think you have to be a Newcastle to do it entertainingly.

The problem is that Carlos isn't a natural pragmatist, like Karanka, and Wednesday don't have the personnel to play that way. That's why things look disjointed and the team's misfiring.

The irony is that if promotion didn't matter, then yesterday you'd probably have seen a performance from Wednesday similar to two seasons ago.
There's no way that Wednesday would have walloped Arsenal 3-0, for example, playing as they did in the derby.

I was just about to say the same thing. Shocked me really.
