I liked him, he was better than many thought.

Is there any video footage of that available? I seem to remember it was quite some example of what has come to be known as 'limbs' in the modern vernacular. Can't find on You Tube.
My memory is that Peschi chipped the goalie from inside left and quite far out. The ball came back off the bar and Sarbs did a slow motion, falling diving header to score.I think Peschisolido hit it from some distance if I remember correctly.
Looking up the game on Soccerbase, it was on Saturday 8th December 2001 (I thought it was a night game but it would have been pretty dark). I don’t remember Shane Nicholson getting sent off for a 2nd yellow in the 80th minute and Sarbs scored in the 90th.My memory is that Peschi chipped the goalie from inside left and quite far out. That’s pretty much how I remember it, though I was only 11 at the time. There were some very unhappy WBA fans outside giving my Dad and I grief walking back to the car because of my Blades shirt. My memory is that Peschi chipped the goalie from inside left and quite far out. The ball came back off the bar and Sarbs did a slow motion, falling diving header to score.
I thought it was Jack Lester I was there .utb
I personally preferred Asaba, mainly for his contribution to the Triple Assault seasonYou’re right! As soon as you said it I remembered it.
Who was the better player? Asana or Lester? I’d probably go Lester.
I was there! Got battered and stole it late on![]()

The Vine - awesome place. It’s been lively more than once after matches there. There was pre-match ale and snap at the boozer with the tandoor oven. Was a bit lively after the game too, they didn't take too kindly to defeat!
I was there as well and he was only a 2nd half sub that day. He remembered it well when I asked him about it when he was the guest speaker in the TC suite about 3 years ago.Remember the withdeam stadium ( running track ) hat trick, great away day
Yeah, but inside right as I remember it... the goal was to my left, and Pesch beyond that. He went on a great run, chipped it towards us from way out, and hit the post/bar - cue much head-holding in the away end. Deadbat was looking the wrong way with a Warnock-style double hands on head, when, almost in slow motion, Asaba came steaming in. I started pointing and shouting LOOOOOK, as he (Asaba, not DB) dived in and planted it in the net. Absolute pandemonium - the only other thing I’d experienced like it at that time was the Coventry cup game on the Kop, or a mosh pit at a punk gig.My memory is that Peschi chipped the goalie from inside left and quite far out. Yep - my bad. Inside right, to our left standing behind the goal.Yeah, but inside right as I remember it... the goal was to my left, and Pesch beyond that. Can’t remember what I did yesterday at work though.

Makes my Blades Legends list for doing the pig snout, after scoring for Millwall in front of the kop at the sty a few years ago.
He used to live at Totley, may well still do, and was a minor car dealer, dealing in high-end cars for other professional footballers. I seem to remember he had that gorgeous red 1980's Audi Quattro. Met him a couple of times, really nice bloke.I remember that too. Excellent.
On TSUW podcast he raves about Sheffield and how much he loves living here. It's strange how a few former players really love what modest Sheffield has to offer. Curle, Sarbs, Santos, Geary & The Quinn's off the top of my head.
Must be something in the Hendos.
I often think this, it’s clear that a lot of ex-players have been happiest in their careers here in the city & the club.I remember that too. Excellent.

Not just Sheffield as a city either. A lot of ex-Blades with no previous allegiance to the club end up falling in love with us and keep coming back - Cresswell, Kitson, Currie, Gage to name some more.I remember that too. Excellent.

Long way to hold it in...I was in the Pig end for that game. Went with Pigs from work who'd got me a ticket. Didn't celebrate properly till I got to London rd afterwards

Here's Kitson and Cresswell talking about the Blades on Insta:

Darius or Deano??I often think this, it’s clear that a lot of ex-players have been happiest in their careers here in the city & the club.
Many have gone on to support the club like Asaba, Kev Gage, Paddy, Maguire, Morgan, Henderson (to a certain extent) to add a few more to your list.
When the club is good there’s certainly a special homely buzz.
