With Wilder gone will Ruben pick his own captain? I would've thought he would be looking for a new captain so who's people's choice for next seasons captain?

As long as it's not JLT. The quicker the armband is removed from him the better. Nothing personal but some of his behaviour last season was embarassing - constantly wrestling in the box, pulling WWE moves and risking getting sent off. It's just not captain behaviour.

I'd be happy with Vinny. I also think Cooper would be a decent shout, very calm and composed.

Don't mind Blaster but I can't help but think there was an element of Bladey Bladeness about it from Wilder.

Looking from the outside, I don't see much in the way of experience & leadership on the field like we've had in years gone by.

We lack a calm older head (Jake Wright/Jags/Craig Short/Speedo) who has seen and done it all, someone with some game management who can get a grip of things late on in games. Souza is the closest thing we have to a bully boy but that's different to being Captain material.

If Robbo has his extension, he should be resigned to being back up and as such have the armband removed.

Let's hope Selles can bring some better candidates in.

I'd hope we sign at least one quality, reliable centre back with captain experience. If so, possibly one of them.

Edit: Arblaster perhaps a bit inexperienced. Almost certainly got the role because of who he supports. Desperate for him to stay and excel this season - maybe without pressure of captaincy.

Blaster needs to be The Skipper - like Billy was.

Apart from his effectiveness as a captain, having the role and looking at the whole team’s performance will help develop him into the player that we all know he can become.
