If I had a time machine i'd love to go forward 10 years and visit this forum. I'd bet we'd still have the Billy Boys and Shakey Jakies throwing wobblies about their man being overlooked. Move on fellas, they're in the past, the captaincy and other aspects of the team are about looking to the future.

JOC is the obvious choice in this respect.

JOC doesn't come across as a leader to me, though he is undoubtedly a very good player for us.

From a playing point of view and leadership on the field, I think both Stearman and Basham are good choices. Personally I never really like strikers to be captains. However, it will continue to be Billy.

Few people mentioning JOC but from what I understand about the squad he's a quieter personality in the group. No doubt an excellent player but i'm not sure if he's exactly the right for captain at this moment in time.

For me Coutts and Billy between them cover the qualities very well.
Coutts is apparently super competitive and driven, which is exactly what you want. Billy in turn leads from the front and demands a high level of performance from the whole group, as well as inspiring them and teaching the ways of the Blades.
demands a high level of performance from the group so he doesn't have to do it himself

Me. I captained my Sunday side and won 11 coin tosses on the spin.
