We haven't. The last game was on 25/4/89 when Mansfield got a shock 2-1 win at the Lane, putting a big dent in our promotion hopes. Agana scored and we went up in the end.

We've played them twice in friendlies recently at Field Mill.

I remember going there in the cup around 1970, when United were due for a good cup run and we lost 2-1 I think. The name Stuart Boam rings a distant bell from that game.

And Harry Haslam's team including Len Ge Goey (his debut?) and maybe Sabella played in 78?. Took ages to get there due to the traffic and thee was great anticipation odf a good resuly. We lost

Memory at fault here a bit

1. The cup game was on 4/1/69. We lost 2-1. Tudor scored

2. The game wasin 1979. We won 4-3, de Goey, Butlin, Speight and Bourne scored. It wasn't DG's debut, but it was his first goal.

That 2-1 defeat in 1969 is the only time we have lost at Mansfield. Overall record there is P6 W2 D3 L1

I thought we won 4-3 that day Eskimo ? I think Jeff Bourne and Barry Butlin were amongst our scorers.

Maybe I thought we lost because there was generally so much expectation at the time, all for nothing in the end.
