We were poor today, difficult to say who was man of the match, maybe Binden? But it was a great moment seeing Campbell's ball across and Brooks there to put in in - leading to jubilant scenes in the away end!
I think the last time I saw a last minute away winner was at Colchester about ten years ago. An enjoyable journey home, UTB!

Bob Atkins - In two and a half years at Bramall Lane Bob played 40 league games for United. He scored three goals, including a crucial last minute winner against Rotherham United on 21 April 1984. The two points gained from Atkins last minute winner were vital in helping Sheffield United gain promotion a few weeks later, since they ended up only getting promoted on goal difference.
Billy Sharp
Sheffield United left it late to turn their dominance into a 1-0 Sky Bet League One victory at Peterborough.
The League One table-toppers squandered a host of chances before Billy Sharp struck from point-blank range with three minutes to go for his 20th goal of the season that extended their lead at the top to five points.
Sharp pounced at the back post after strike-partner James Hanson had headed down a cross from the right. It sparked jubilant scenes among a travelling army of almost 4,000 Blades fans at the ABAX Stadium.

I was there! Still one of my most joyful moments watching football ever. The place went berserk!

How could I have forgotten Sharp's last minute winner at Peterborough?!

I probably went flying past you, the only time apart from Darlington Ive invaded a pitch.

That was a partuculalry nice last minute winner as there seemes to be a lot of bad blood between the clubs and the fans at that time, and they were a really irritating bunch. Few games where it was nip and tuck, hard as nails tackles going in all over and that twat David Elleray being a bent ref in the replay before who was the arrogant headmaster who clearly disliked Bassett. Even that twat had to give the blatant penalty in the last minute which Bryson put away with surprising ease. Was a magic moment and yes, it was carnage in the away end. Good times. ☺️

An awesome day out 😁

It was in the league game the same season. Agana scored the cup pen in the 2nd replay.

Elleray refereed the scoreless first replay, not the league game.

Ah. Yes i seem to recall that now. Didnt that late winner in the cup from Agana come after he and Deano had been subjected to racists taunts from the Barnsley pit dwellers? Was a nice moment when he shoved that one up their collective arses. Classless tw@ts.

The Peterborough game was 9 years ago last Wednesday but I can still remember the winner like it was yesterday. How time flies..

I was there as a 15 year old packed like sardines into the away end behind the goal. Can see him now turning and hitting it into top corner.Brilliant day.
I was there with my dad aged 17. Atkins was only playing up front because Edwards had gone off injured.

As the ball was played to him on the edge of the box with his back to goal, my dad said "don't give it to him, he's rubbish".

Ive never let him forget that ;-)

Your old man had a point. Adkins was generally horse shit. But that was his day and it was mad on the Railway End that day. Another day when United were 'off it' but somehow nicked it late on.

I must admit when he shaped to shoot I was shouting no don't shoot! Couldn't believe it when he scored.
