Exactly this - Campbell is the best striker we have at playing the way we set up. We’ve essentially spent 10m for a striker who isn’t capable of playing this way. The drop off is frightening. For that kind of clover we should’ve signed a striker who’s capable of playing how Campbell plays.
Not for the first time it smacks of Wilder not scouting players in any real detail before singing them.

He just doesn't show for the ball and seems to bottle every 50/50. I think we must sign players off 3 minute YouTube clips

Going ahead with that change despite the equaliser was stupidity

Take off your only runner and outlet, bring on a nothing player

Handed them the initiative when we were still playing well

Might as well have brought Holding on, gone 3-6-1, and played for a draw

But no, our January CB signing, 5 games after his arrival, still isn't near starting, when CB was the most important position to address

But we do have a 4th choice 10m striker we didn't need

This is bang on the money. The absolute waste of money on a nothing player is going to cost us when there were other positions to strengthen.

I think Cannon and Moore both play well in a front two, but not as lone strikers.
Moore did very well when he was upfront with McBurnie at Barnsley.

We could have signed a top quality centre back for £10m but we've signed another Brewster, Cannon will start against QPR and do nothing and wilder will be talking shite about how well he stretches the game etc

Moore offers so might more which is saying something

Be better saying it in English but you’re correct. We don’t have enough goalscorers in the side - including the two out and out strikers mentioned.

Then we have a right back dry bummed for 45 minutes. A full back who can’t defend against a good wide player. And before we blame JRS, Clarkes positioning was dire.

Dreadful January recruitment based on tonight

He's not played more than 70 minutes since November.
He got a whack about 5 minutes before he came off and didn't look to be moving freely.

And for the 40minutes before? He’s looked iffy every game defensively.

If we still manage to go up hopefully we can persuade some mugs to ake him off our hands cos he is going to do nothing at all in the Premier League

It’s early days I know but that £10 million could have been spent on one top quality centre half. It’s the defence not the attack that will cost us automatic promotion. The defence is a nervous wreck at the moment ever since Souttar got injured.

We can start a classical music thread in the other forum if you want to talk about Canon.
Love a bit of Pachelbel myself.

Cannon and Hamer were injured shouldn’t have come on but needs must

Not surprised to see Campbell go off as he's still yet to do 90 minutes, was surprised that we didn't bring Moore on at the same time as Cannon was struggling to play as a lone striker.

Holding needs to replace Robinson at QPR and let’s see if we can tighten things up again.

I really do agree that the outballl goes when you put him on. He will, and must have, strengths, but we need to see them. There were two balls immediately after sub were made where players were putting it into positions Campbell would chase. Cannon, on his heels and not even considering that ball tried to catch up to the defender. If he's a fox in the box (previous games), I'm not seeing it either. Ahhhhh.

Campbell was pinning them back with his skill and link up play. Taking Campbell off freed up the Leeds players to get up the pitch
I don't think Campbell can play 90 mins, he's not been fully fit all season.

It's a massive shame that 2 of the players in our squad who have the physique, pace and ability to play at the top level (Seriki is the other) don't have the resilience to stay in the pitch for long enough

Clarke's shite and Solomon doing that to him was totally predictable. He didn't get near him. Choudhury made a big difference. Wilder got that right. He's now ahead of Clarke for RB as far as I'm concerned. So is Gilchrist. Clarke should be the one missing the squad

We really should have just stretched a little bit more and got Kenny. Not to mention Dunne. It's not like the money wasn't there

Some very stupid decisions in that window

See if Stoke will buy him and we can pretend like we never signing him.

I don't recall anyone saying he was shite when we signed him, but after a few games without any decent service he's suddenly shite

If anyone can show me where they said he was crap when we signed him I'll apologise, but I doubt any of you moaning about him did

He's a goalscorer who hasn't settled yet, likes to play on the shoulder, and we currently don't suit that, but to say he is crap already sums up the keyboard generation

I said the money should have been spent elsewhere. I'd have sooner taken him on loan than drop 10 million on him.

He won a corner and tried jeering up the kop.

Sorry but he’s a tenth of the striker Campbell is. Looks an absolutely rubbish signing.

People say he isn't fully fit yet a not so fit Campbell does 100 times more.

I said from the beginning he were shite and not what we needed.. though I'll not wear that as a badge of honor.

Plenty of people weren't in favour of the signing, to be fair.

Yeh this 100%. We spent all the money on Canon and then couldn’t stretch to a few hundred grand for a very solid right back or a couple of mill for Dunne. We could have brought in 4/5 very reliable players for the money we spent on Canon. Plus bringing him in early signalled to everyone else that we had money to burn!
