can our unusual approach catch out the prem

We have to get there first.....

Interesting topic though. My take on it is that we will be able to continue playing in a similar way against most PL sides however Wilder and Knill will need to tinker with our shape and attacking/defensive balance to make it work. We’ll be up against better players that have a greater ability to expose our openness on the break hence we’ll need to know when to be a little more compact or when not to press so high.

Against the top six sides we simply won’t be able to play the way we do. Their quality will tear us to pieces 9/10 times. The basic principles should remain the same against everyone but the higher we move up the pyramid the more we will need to be wary of the opposition’s quality. Basic facts of football. Wilder and Knill will find a way.

Christ on a bike.
Do you ever live on planet earth or just spend your life inviting just deserts.
How about posting about the next game rather than the sort of shit pig's post.
Don't get and never will get this we will fuck up everything attitude . Believe it or not but we have been promoted before
I have witnessed it as well as failing so know its a vague possibility
Mind you we haven't won a promotion for nearly 2 years so I get your fears

So BTL is getting a bit giddy because we're in a position where we may get success. How is that different to the fuckers who also get a bit giddy when we don't win?

There's a few of those on this thread

It's like when The Mighty Ducks invented the Flying V. It got them so far but it got found out at the top level. If we get to the prem, we'll need to find our version of the knucklepuck.

I cringe when I read threads like this.

When did “we” become so arrogant?
Arrogant . If we go up will our style work there as it's done for past 3 years. Where's the arrogance in that . If you want I'll start a we will collapse as usual and finish below Wednesday thread all you negs can have a wank in

Thanks for the balance bit but Im not giddy . We have a system thats working . Hard to believe for some that that is true we peed on league one and are now one of the best 4 in the championship .weve been in top 6 since game 5. If you dont enjoy football when your teams playing well really what is the fucking point.

Yes it's entirely possible we could collapse

But it seems some of our fans actually pray for it so they can smugly say told you so.

For a supporter to do that is well weird
I BET any fan from Leeds Norwich and West Brom would read some of the lack of faith indulged in on here and be amazed

Hey you should read how blades fans don't give themselves the remotest possibility of finishing top 2 . It surely amazes me

Pashun' and momentum will get us further than any tactic and overlapping centre half nonsense.

Hence the when /If bit

But please keep being negative every minute of every day if it works for you

So sorry, can somebody tell me where the 2021 champions league final is taking place, I must book a hotel in preparation.

That's being arrogant . I'm only saying there's a chance we can emulate something I've see us do before. As recent as 2 years ago .get promoted

Arrogance was a misplaced word, in your case.

Your head has has always been in the fucking clouds. Even during a decade long decline you argued everything in the garden was rosey.

It’s only fair that someone so deluded should be allowed to get carried away in the good times. :)

what rot

decade long decline so thats been extended / 5 years as the last league one season was brilliant

people who can only recall the bad bits get right up my nose
i pity them being unable to enjoy the good bits

Id rather have my head in the clouds than my thoughts being in some gloomy gutter of despair

but takes all sorts

hope we fail miserably so you can enjoy it

There’s not a post of mine that you can find that will back up your latest nonsense.

ditto

Ive never made claims other than we can make the play offs with a 10 per cent improvement

but theyve proven me wrong by being 20 per cent better

Nailed it. Bang right.

Aren't human beings strange? Here we are on a fans forum, all supposedly supporting the same team, one guy asks a perfectly legitimate question about our unique style of play, how it might work in another division, and he gets hammered for it. Lighten up guys, this is exactly the place where these things should be discussed. I've heard pundits ask the same question, more or less, so why shouldn't we discuss it? It's not like it's a pipe dream, we are currently top 2 with 12 games to go. You can bet your life that Chris and Alan have asked the same question, and will be planning for such an eventuality.

I don't for one second think Chrissy Wissy and Ally Wally have spent a single second on such utter nonsense.
Wilder in particular will have thought on Darlington and Leicester as have all time served Blades. He will also have thought with great anger and a refusal to repeat Pigs. Arsenal .Newcastle Liverpool and Spurs semis as well as Palace. Wolves . Burnley and Huddersfield p.o. finals . As have all time served Blades.
He will be focused on the biggest.toughest game of the season on Monday.
He won't be talking bollocks about what hasn't happened.
I'm with Wilder. As are all time served Blades with a brain

Sorry Bill, I think you are hugely wrong. ALL clubs, owners, Boards, and Managers have short term and long term plans, and where appropriate, contingency plans when short term and long term could possibly happen together. Do you not remember our first season under Wilder, he publicly stated that he had two lists of player targets, one for if we went up, and one if not.?
Any club would look utterly silly if promotion or relegation happened and they hadn't actually thought about that possibility until it happened, don't you think?

It's not like all the other Championship managers are total incompetents that can't watch our match videos and see what we do.

It's an interesting system, it's an unusual one, but it's not magic. No small part of it is that we have players good enough to pull it off. If we go up to the Premiership, we won't have the benefit of knowing that our midfield can pass rings round other teams. We won't see Sharp losing top flight defenders as easily as he does now. The teams up there also have good managers, good systems, and for the most part, better players than we do.

We play good football. We attack well, we defend well. The only limit to it is the personnel.

They can watch videos and try to counter us but they don’t have a huge amount of time between games to really work on any major change of system and don’t always have the flexibility in playing staff to implement it. It’s a system they’re only going to come up against two games in a season so they can’t dedicate huge amounts of time to it.

Look at the pigs. Bruce will have been preparing them for Brentford so he’ll only have had yesterday and today (and probably tomorrow) to prepare for our game.

The PL will be much harder but I don’t think the bottom half is much better than the top half of the championship. There could be enough wins against those clubs to keep us up.

Fair points. Our system certainly does create all sorts of problems that teams aren't used to. Mostly, my point is that it's been part of the narrative for too long now that we're getting more out of the players than we should. And, relative to their cost, that's a given. What I'd add though is that we're now at the point where we have the likes of Norwood, who's been promoted out of this division more than once, and players like Fleck, JOC, Sharp, Stevens, Egan, Basham, who you have to say must be considered proven Championship players.

The best manager in the world isn't winning the Championship with Barnet's squad. At some point the bottleneck will be the quality of players at your disposal. I think that'll be the case in the Prem. Doesn't mean that we couldn't add some improvements and find three weaker teams than us, I just mean that Man City won't be stopped by our tactics.

Agree with that 100%. We’re a better team now than this time last season and that’s entirely down to personnel.
