Notts County manager Ricardo Moniz says Jamal Campbell-Ryce might have to play on in their relegation battle despite a suspected torn knee ligament.

The winger, 32, will have a scan on the medial collateral ligament injury he picked up in the 1-1 draw at Yeovil.

County are one point from safety in League One with five games to play.

"Maybe players have to play with broken knees or broken ankles. I said to him, 'Jamal, we need you'," Moniz told BBC Radio Nottingham .

"It's so important that we stay up.

"I don't know how we do it, but you have to come back as quickly as possible."

Campbell-Ryce has made four appearances for Notts County since arriving from League One rivals Sheffield United on a loan deal in February.

Moniz was only appointed as boss last week and the Yeovil match was his first game in charge.

Hey Ricardo Moniz you dickhead, do you mind not making our player carry on crippled.

Quite worrying that. Is he allowed to damage our players like that?

Just as an aside, can there have been a game, so late in the season, that featured two new managers before last Saturday.

Not sure he can do that because I would guess it breaks the terms of the loan?

By the way Moniz looks like a black Jeremy Clarkson.

That's shocking if true, we should get him back now before he does some serious damage, don't want another crock on the books

I would have assumed any injured loan players would come back for treatment or does the loan club handle that?

I feel a tad for JCR, he's gone from a promotion challenging side to a relegation threatened one after helping to put us where we are now. Now he has to play injured for them? Come on Clough, this is certainly the time to bring him back surely? Surelyo_O

Asking him to play with a suspected torn ligament is just stupid. If it's true we should get him back for treatment immediately.

Wasn't it JCR's choice to go though? Didn't he want guaranteed regular football?

But this sounds a bit odd though if it's true. Normally the parent club would bring the player back to oversee their contracted player's rehab.

Might possibly mean that the loan is a loan with a permanent deal at the end of the season if we're standing by and letting them do this. And I reiterate 'if'

Either way it's irresponsible of notts co if they're forcing injured players to risk further damage

Apparently so swiss but we don't really know i think would be the correct answer

I agree with all this because like you say a loan normally comes back to his parent club for treatment, this hasn't happened.

Cloudy said in his interview the club will look at him after the Yeovil game tomorrow. I heard that as he will be back for treatment.

Wouldn't JCR himself say he won't play while injured? I know I'd tell him to do one.

Send them a video our last 10 minutes against Peterborough, that should do it.

If I were him Id say ok Ill play then walk on and sit in the center circle for 90 mins

That's what I would do as well.

Although I hopee he will just come back to us for treatment tomorrow.

The main reason JCR was sent out on loan was that Clough didn't think he'd work very well with an attacking right back, i.e. Brayford, Freeman or even Flynn. But last night we were back to playing the defensively minded Alcock. If he's going to continue there due to injuries we may look at bringing back JCR as an option as he's shown that he can create things, without an overlapping full back supporting him.

Coutts in front of Alcock will be a poor combination IMO.

That's not the actual reason JCR was sent away, but I agree that the reason you cite is a good one for taking him back.

Oh dear Christ is that we're reduced to?!
