Amid all the justified doom and gloom, O'Hare was the one beacon of light yesterday.
Tremendous attitude, didn't stop and kept going (when others didn't), provided a threat, movement (when others were often impersonating statues) and scored.
If we could find a way to transfuse some of that drive into a few other players we'd have a chance of staying up.

O’Hare isn’t a top quality player, he’s just doing the job of a professional footballer which stands out a mile as everyone else is poor.

His stats aren’t any different to last season.

I like him, and appreciate his work ethics and commitment, but the reality is his efforts highlight how poorly everyone else is playing.

It’s hard to play well in a failing team. And it’s hard to keep running when your teammates aren’t supporting you.

I stayed back to applaud O’Hare off the pitch. He deserves singling out.

Not sure what qualifies as a top quality player in the Championship but his goal numbers are already higher this season than last.
Continuing to put it in when everyone else is wandering around fairly aimlessly whether due to lack of heart and/or confidence is pretty admirable.
Agree that his effort stands out because of the current dross around him though.

Yep bizarrely he is thriving without Hamer in the team.

Stands out like a sore thumb. Fit, mobile, professional and runs himself into the ground for the vast majority of every game until he knackers himself out. Tbf there's a few others that attempt the same but they don't have the same fitness.

If he knows what’s good for him he’ll have his agent working overtime ready for a move in Jan. deserves much better than playing in this team.

I've had this feeling all week but there's just something that tells me so much about Sunday will rely on this lad.

He's been the one to put his body on the line, keep going, chase down everything, win possession, win free kicks and desperately try to make things happen. I can just see so much of our play going through him and him being the one to make things happen.

I might be well off the park and it's just pre-derby nerves. I just can't shake the feeling he's the one on Sunday.

He’s certainly a very busy player and puts the effort in. He can also be effective. He’s very much in the Duffy mould playing a little bit more of a free role, but also coming in deeper to pick the ball up.

If we start with a lot of energy and look to go for it early on, I can see exactly what you’re saying. He presses and pressurises and that style worked well last season when we looked to get early goals, not always with O’Hare in that role.

I don’t think we currently have the confidence, fitness, the entire team to play this way and in a derby it might be a tad suicidal to go for it early on.

Might be controversial but I think he’s better coming in later in games with the way that we play, his energy is better used later in games. It would certainly be against Wilders evolved way of playing.

I guess it also depends on whether we go with 1 up front, with O’Hare supporting or with two out and out strikers, which could happen now that we have Bamford

With Wilders track record, I'm fully expecting Bamford to start and I'm expecting him to be up front on his own. He's not bad at holding the ball up and it may allow us to build from midfield playing off him. The vision I have is O'hare dropping deep, picking the ball up, playing into Bamford who plays it back into O'hare to slot in either of our wingers running in behind. He's quick and nippy enough to play around a Bannan who'll be mostly stationary in midfield waiting to ping balls out on the counter.

It'll be curious to see how we approach it now we have a "proper number 9" as Chris himself says.

He was superb.... so were Seriki, Tangana, Mee, Peck, and Campbell.

Brooks just needs to know that his position is up for grabs and with more committment and challenging of defenses down the right, it could be his.

We certainly luck stronger in all three zones today but, alas, we have to understand the large lack of skills at S6.

Never-the-less, we played well, more of a team today thay we have seen, and got 3 crucial points.

CoH is in the best run of form he's had with us. As was mentioned in sky commentary he wasn't always first choice last year. He is now.

You can see he relishes being the creative one in the middle. I’m certain a good manager can find a way to play him with Hamer and get something out of both of them. But I think it’s obvious to get a full tilt COH he needs to feel that freedom.

He was relentless today, but so were a good chunk of the side. Peck excellent too. Best midfield performances all season. We were just far more "on it" than them, in thought and deed. This has to be the blueprint for the rest of the season now. I've been one of those critical of Wilder, but he got it spot on today, well done 👍

Would rather have him on my team than not. He's everywhere. A joy to watch.
