Callum McFadzean signs for Burton Albion on an initial one month loan

Bit strange as he looked to be on his way back in the reckoning, and has some experience playing left back? With Harris and Hill out for a while we don't have much back up there.

Not sure Clough will see McFadzean as strong enough defensively to play left back; I would have thought we'll see Freeman there on Saturday. Clough probably also still has strong links at Burton and will probably feel that this loan is McFadzean's chance to prove that he really is good enough to play for SUFC.

His off the pitch antics have also been referred to more than you'd hope for a young footballer so maybe that's got something to do with it too? That said, there's been no news on that front for a while so I might well be wrong.

Seems an age since they beat us. Zeli Ismail and McFadzean on the wings I assume we will be playing them for a fourth season running, however this time in the league.

Seen him at left back for the U21s, in my opinion he isn't good enough in that role. He is far better as an attacking left sided midfielder but he has to prove himself hungry enough and good enough to Cloughie.

He pleaded guilty to his offence and got community service so to some extent that is dealt with.

However, you have to question someone who nuts their girlfriend after a night out. The key question is can he grow up ?

Good luck to him, hopefully he can get his career back on track. In the playoffs last year when his confidence was high he looked great! Levelled off a little this year but some of the best players in the world take a few seasons to reach their potential.

To be perfectly accurate. In the play offs last year he looked a little less shite than others in red and white. He showed a modicum more bottle but that's it. I would have said they were all mostly anonymous by there presence. He was just a bit less of a Shitwasp than the rest

I think in years to come, aslong as he gets his head sorted out, he will become a very good direct and attacking player.
As for kenilworths comments,i thought he was fearless towards the end of last season and i thought, only towards the end he was propably our best player ,understandly as kenilworth said he was playing with players who wasnt quite upto it.
Just my opinion

Young players often play without fear when they have nothing to lose or don't get weighed down with the stress and enormity of the task at hand. Sometimes it's an advantage strolling though life with your head up your arse. Don't confuse that with being mentally strong or mature. He showed his maturity outside the confines of the ground.

If he isn't ready he needs games and. Clough doesn't want to trust him in our match day squad so he has leant him out to a team he knows and trusts to get game time and experience. Don't think he would have let Burton, a club he managed into the league and one he will still have a great affection for, have McFadz if he didn't think the kid had something about him. Just needs to develop and grow the fuck up.

Yes, I'm sure we will, he did well there at Preston. I wonder what we'd do if either him or Davies gets a knock though. Maybe Brayford is getting close to full fitness?

totally agree, poor timing for me

He went off after 25 mins against Peterborough anyone know why?
Looked like he picked up a knock to me that night. Probably down to the fact he hadn't played much football. I agree with a lot of the comments above, he needs to get some games and Burton is good fit. Hopefully he comes back fitter, stronger and in a better frame of mind!

Signalled to the bench and looked uncomfortable, guessing he'd pulled something.
