McBurnie and Gelhardt? You're right they’re not, thats my fucking point, Gelhardts trying to be a successful footballer.

Or did you mean Lang and Gelhardt? In their case, they both scored a lot of goals for Wigan, at a similar standard.

Yeah, that’s exactly what I meant. How can you compare Gelhardt signing for Leeds for £1m as an inexperienced young player to McBurnie who was the championship top scorer?

OK, it wasn’t about McBurnie, but Callum Lang is a striker for Wigan and scoring regularly for them, people are questioning if he could possibly do the same for United in the Championship or higher?

I pointed out that Leeds had bought Gelhardt from the same club (Wigan) based on similar scoring exploits at a similar standard, for under £1m, he has now played several games in the Premier League with some success and does not look at all out of place.

So, now this is the relevance bit, my opinion is therefore that based on Gelhardts success, that I would like to see us take a relatively inexpensive gamble on potential young talent like Callum Lang.

To perhaps emphasise my point, I implied that to do so would make far greater long term economic sense than to waste the huge sums of money on a ‘finished item’ like Oliver McBurnie only to realise two years later that he actually is just ‘finished’
