Hopefully an indication Trusty is on his way. Because Robinson won't be. And we won't go with more than 2 LCBs

If we're actively looking to sign a LCB that's a really good sign regarding budget because if we were struggling we'd obviously just stick with Robinson and Trusty because that's hardly a weak duo at Championship level

5 loan spots. Players with a similar standing on that portion, like Greaves, are very expensive at this time, so why not?

Be very surprised if this is true, he's had two loans into the championship in the last 2 seasons, surprised he's not looking to test himself on loan in the premier league.

This is probably our strategy under the Prince.

Borrow as much as you can I.e. players with no return, but also no commitment beyond the current season and negligible outlay in fee to club or player.

Get freebies from the League you’re in or below, more economical than the full fee.

When promoted, spend as little on fees, get upgraded freebies and max your loans.

Exceptions Hamer and Souza however these were financed anyway by the departures of Ndiaye and Berge probably with some left over. Archer though as perm deal was largely refunded once relegated.

Not saying it’s wrong in our circumstances but under the current ownership it is what it is so rather than looking too much at out of contract players on transfermarkt, may as well look as much at those likely to be sent on loan by PL clubs. They could be greater in number than those joining permanently.

After all under the Prince, we are Kick the can down the road FC!

Doyle is the best left sided centre half in the league for me. Would be an excellent loan if possible.

I'm not a Trusty fan, but even I'm content with JLT and Trusty in that position. Weird if we're after another.

yes i think wilder has seen enough of trusty and doesnt rate him i think he will be moved on also would put to bed my theory that rnd will be be moved to lcb so maybe him and burrows for lwb and bogle and shackleton rwb

But we will obviously be asking Man City for hand outs again.

People are still falling for the 'former agent' on Twitter stuff?
If people can’t see that’s a parody account then there’s no hope for them. The tweet about being in Faliraki with the owner of Nottingham Forest should be an obvious clue! 😂

Not sure this tweet has any credibility but just on your point, I think Trusty could be used more in the middle this season than left.

I guess it depends on who we're bringing in, but it's possible we'll want someone more attacking minded in the LCB role this year. I had JLT/Trusty down as the 2 LCBs, and then 1CB + Egan (if fit).

Lots of unknowns at the minute - in fact, just as many as when I drew up the list of transfer requirements in about March time!

If they come off I’m glad we’re addressing the left side. I’m not convinced on RND on either performance or fitness but could see him slotting into LCH and fighting there for a position. Robinson and Trusty can play there but also the center role too which may suit them better.
Egan is an unknown both from if he’ll sign a deal, how much can he play after that long out, and will he have lost anything?
So far, I’m quite liking the rumours especially when you think we have the 5 loans which should add most of the real quality, and hopefully we’ll use most of them further up the pitch.

Yep, RND I imagine is on fairly cheap wages, and a bonus in effect. Hopefully he'll be fit enough to contribute, but I imagine we're planning for his pitch time to be fairly limited.

For the defence I had

LWB x1, Little Ben as backup
LCB JLT, Trusty as backup
CB x1, Egan as backup (x2 if Egan unavailable)
RCB x2
RWB Bogle, Curtis as backup (or one of the RCBs able to cover RWB)

Glad we're sorting the LWB out - long overdue. Worrall I'm sure will fill the CB role. RCB will be an interesting, maybe 1 perm 1 loan there?

It does seem a bit unlikely that, having played for the best team in the Championship last season, he would want to come to us this season.

Given he only played 17 league games, it would suggest he didn’t really make the position his own at that level. Was he injured?
I’d say there’s a decent chance that we do a deal for that sort of player because of what we did with Henderson and McAtee in that if we have a good season there’s a good chance of stepping up again.

I suppose it depends how good Doyle is.

Robbo has had a decent spell, no doubt.

He isn’t in the same box as Jack O’Connell though. Maybe Doyle could be?

Also, Egan has still not signed. So for all we know, the likes of Robbo and Trusty may well be being considered for that role, though I doubt it and hope Egan remains.

Yes he was injured. For a bit.

He’s come out and said he wants a permanent move away from City this summer. This lad should be pretty near the top of our list of targets good age, good pedigree, good level of experience left footed ball playing CB.
They’ll want a daft fee though which I think will make the deal more of a stretch. He’s a talented player who’s only nailed down a role in a mid table championship side so should be £5m tops but they’ll be wanting closer to treble that. Crazy!

Tahts the going rate and as Burnley have shown they tend to increase in value
