WARNOCK TO RESURRECT WEBBER INTEREST
Palace boss hopes to nab striker
Eagles boss Neil Warnock will resurrect his interest in Sheffield United's out-of-favour striker Danny Webber.
The Advertiser has learned that Webber was within minutes of securing a permanent move to Selhurst Park during the January transfer window, but the deal was put on hold as it could not be completed in time.
Warnock tried to nab the striker again, this time on loan, and had agreed a deal with then Blades boss Bryan Robson that would see Webber join on loan until the end of the season.
However, that deal was stopped in its tracks after Robson was sacked by the Bramall Lane club and the subsequent appointment of Kevin Blackwell.
And now the Advertiser understands that Warnock will launch a third attempt to bring Webber to SE25 once he returns from his summer holiday.
