People saying Ramsdale is a Sheffield lad... isn’t he from Stoke? I saw some WBA fans claiming he supported them too, but I thought he was a Blade?

Yep pretty sure he’s from Stoke. Also, I think we took him from Bolton’s academy at 16 didn't we? Not sure how strong his affiliation with SUFC will be.

Injuries notwithstanding definitely think you could do worse.

Could enable you as well to go back to the 3-5-1-1 again in some games, albeit at a higher level- he made a good/decent impact in 2018/19 with Bournemouth?

I think if we can get brooks back on a cheapish deal, to do with Bournemouth relegation; Brooks not caring to stay there; and having some sort of buy back clause "potentially" I cant see why its a bad idea. Its a deal that could definitely make sense, and we know he can do it in the prem even in a struggling side, far better than any foreigner. UTB

He hardly played always injured and light weight and really take out three huge individual contributions he flattered to deceive for us and his wages will be to high
Why can he do it better than any foreigner that’s Utter bollocks ???

We are crying out for someone to create havoc and open up the oppositions defence. Brooks is that type of player but he won’t be coming back to us. He will end up playing for a London club.

I like that Gerard Deulofeu from Watford.

Deulofeu is a great shout. Might have the same issue though in that bigger clubs with more cash will surely want him

Brooks left us as he wanted Premier league football and presumably loadsa cash. He's now down in the championship so would entertain interest from us on that basis alone. Brooks is an exciting player, no question. When he first started at Bournemouth he was the stand out player.

Can't comment on Ramsdale as I've not seen enough of him.

I was referring to the links with people like Dennis from the Belgium league ect, forgeiners who haven't proven themself in the prem but warrant a fee of 10 mill plus. Brooks is only reported to be on a wage of 20k a week, tho that most certainly rises to 30k. I just think u give him time and a manager who gives forwards chances and u get a player who could be valued at 50 Mill in 3 years, minus the injuries hopefully.

I like Deulofeu as well. Cracking player.

Diving bastard though. And I don't like that. I suspect Wilder won't either.

Also hasn't he done his cruciate? Might not be the same player when he's fit again.

Fair enough. I rate Brooks and I'd be delighted to see him back but it's a risk. I'd be surprised if he's not on more than 20k a week.

B'mouth think they can get £40m for Brooks - good luck on that one - even B'mouths unrealistic valuation and what he would eventually go for, still puts him way out of our bracket.

He didn't fit how we played when we had him before - he is more like a Robinson who likes playing in a fluid front 3 - Brooks simply doesn't fit in how CW/AK presently play.

We need a centre forward to play up top so that the team scores more goals - we also may need a no:10 - but that no:10 isn't David Brooks.

Lets just get that apparent £4m (10% sell on clause) and put it towards someone that we really do need in the team.

UTB

Think our sell on will be bigger than 10%, Wilder said it was a "big un" in an interview at the start of 18/19

I hope he goes to Spurs for £50m

I want Brooks, but I'm a supporter.
If it was my job and reputation on the line then I wouldn't risk him.

£20+ million is a gamble for us, its make or break.
He will go to a club where if he gets injured and misses the whole of next season, they won't lose too much sleep having paid that kind of fee.

Just this, we played him out of his best position. Wilder probably knows this now. Huge gamble, but Wilder has gambled before.

I think they have got their eye on 2 or 3 potentials that we havent even considered or know about. With the pre-season so short I dont think they will go for a McBurnie, Berge or Mousset that need time to settle into the way we play they will be looking at ones that can hit the ground running.

Understand lot of people are saying brooks doesn't fit how we play, or the way CW/AK want to play, but i think we need options. Think of BHA (H), WOL (H), AVL (A) I underatand lack of fans in last 2 may have caused less urgency but all them teams neutralised our team strategy and the way we play, then its just quality vs quality and in the final third unfortunately I dont see it enough. Brooks is not only a player with the quality to beat a man, but someone who can help switch up the system when the opposition are nailing it down defensively, that extra winger, extra overlap, body ect. Brooks may be over valued but i do think its time for depth if we want to seriously survive in the divison before most teams know how to get points against us.
