DB doing it again tonight vs Forest.

We probably can't afford him anymore but CW must remember how good we looked with that kind of talent playing off the target man (Leon).

Come on Chris we have played in a variety of attractive ways in the recent past - it's time to refresh our approach going forward because we are deadly dull these days.

Looks classy doesn't he. Love the way he effortlessly glides forward, got great balance & one drop of the shoulder & he's done you. Silky player. He'll be back in the Prem next year with or without Bournemouth.

We can't afford Brooks. What we need to do is find the equivalent of David Brooks in 2020: someone 19/20 years old in the Championship showing signs of being capable of playing in the Premier League. Someone like Ilias Chair or Bright Osayi-Samuel at QPR maybe?

Swings and roundabouts isn't it.. I do believe Rammers and Brewster will be valuable players for us, but we could really do with a Brooks right now. :(
He could sit on the bench again or be shoehorned into our formation in a similar way to Berge.

We would have got him for £30m, instead we got Rammers/Brewster.
You can make a point about that the Brewster money could have been allocated elsewhere but if we didn’t sign Ramsdale we would’ve had to sign a goalkeeper Henderson wasn’t available for loan in the summer.

You need to read the other threads, it was simple. We should have just got Deeney and Foster from Watford. The ‘PlayStation managers’ said it.

Brooks and Berge what a midfield that would be. sir Chris will know the chequebook has to come out in January.

I think we should get him back. Even if it puts in a chance of financial ruin if we go down we can just do what other teams do and start again.

Imagine

Bogle Basham Egan. O’Connell Lowe

Norwood
Berge. fleck
brooks

brewster

Exactly the kind of player we’re crying out for, every team in the prem has a player like Brooks someone who can make something happen out of nothing.
It’s alright though we’ve got Lowe and Bogle...(well apparently got Bogle anyone seen him??)

I've seen in various places today that Brooks is going to be sold for around £40m and Berge for between £40m -£50m. I bet they won't.

There are very few sides in the Prem who don't possess some players that are willing to take a man on with the ball at their feet. Maybe only us & Burnley?
It's such a powerful weapon to have.
thats our problem captain in a nutshell weve no players who can carry the ball and beat a man with that bit on individualism that would open things up i would like to see sander do it more hes well capable but for some reason just wants to play the short safe pass

I think Mcgoldrik should be dropped and Sander Berge doing the link-up role. drop Mcburnie for Burke.
Sander Berge can get past players and supply through ball for the pacy Brewster and Burke. I can see why Chris won't change tactics. they have got us from league one to the prem. however, a slight change of tactics could make the difference.

My issue with starting Burke is his lungs. He's a quick fucker but looks gassed after half hour.

He deffo one that should be on the bench coming on as an impact sub to supplement attack.

Does make you wonder, Calvert-Lewinn, Ramsdale, Adams, Brooks etc.

Did we REALLY have to sell them all?

The Maguires and Walkers I accept.

If someone else posted this I'd reply with Fleck, O'Connell, promotion etc.

But I do wonder if some of these younger players couldn't have been part of the ascent.

Maybe not. Just galling when they type of players we need are those we already had, but offloaded.

If McCabe/Prince had chucked an extra few £m in then the answer would have been ‘no’. They’d lost their willingness to gamble at that point though and who could blame them.

With hindsight and a couple of years in the PL guaranteed if they had they might have acted differently. Could easily have gone tits up though and we could have had Pulis in charge by now.

From the transcripts of the court case I’m under the impression that KM was quite happy to sell our assets if it meant we got promoted and he could sell the club on. I think that had been his main concern since around 2012.

Cos McCabe is a cunt

I think if Wilder does go for Brooks either in January or Summer i think again that could be quite costly in terms of our budget and personally i think it would be a poor signing. You could get a much better and more accomplished midfielder abroad for a quarter of the price brooks has been quoted for
