Wonder what wage he's on then? Given what he could expect at eg Liverpool it must be decent. Whatever, its great news and shows that he's enjoying life with us in the first team

Big credit to Brooks here, because if he wasn't genuinely really keen to stay here, then his agent would've made sure he didn't sign this deal.

Great to see a top young player like him think about more than just money.

I just hope there's not a release clause.

Hope it's a fair ol' wedge and he's happy..cause he's worth it!
Good times :)

UTB!

I'm not mentioning him or giving him any kind of credit but the diving pig seems to be worth a few quid.

Sorry bushblade, I meant who are the 4 at the lane, think I've got 3 who would your 4th be. Oh and yeah you might be right about the 5th but I bet wilder wouldn't touch him with a barge pole for at least 2 reasons.

I was going to comment earlier today that it wouldn't surprise me him being genuinely happy to sign an extension, how he's handled chosing Wales arguably shows some real maturity.

And why the fuck would he want to leave? Immediate opportunities he has at the Lane are amazing for him. I second that point to Wilder too.

Take your pick mate. Freeman, Baldock, Stevens, all good players and still developing.

Financially and footballistically signing this contract makes complete sense.

You just always fear that the agents and the top clubs will corrupt these things and get their own way. Great to see that's not happened on this occasion. As I said, huge credit to Brooks for it.

The world has turned on its head and I am loving it.

Well done Chris and Kevin, this is great news.

We have the most valuable players in Sheffield whilst at the sty they can celebrate the biggest depreciation on players.

Up the Blades!

Brilliant news, would he have signed if we'd not had such a great start? I think David fancies going to the prem as a blade.
Can't imagine there's not a release clause though, just hope it's high enough to keep people away...

When we lost the likes of Lowton (2012), McDonald (2013), Maguire (2014) and Murphy (2015) we weren't in a position where we could say we were moving forward as a club. We need that if we're going to keep younger players, they have to feel that we're a club where they can improve their careers and achieve more in the game. When the mentioned three left disappointing seasons were ahead, and I doubt them staying would have been enough to change the outcomes. I don't think they regret their moves.

Things are very different now as we currently have the biggest momentum in English football and are clearly moving forward, mainly thanks to Chris Wilder, but things are looking good in all departments of the club.

Let's also hope more future targets realise what is happening here and choose us over other options, for football and career reasons.

The jungle drums reached S6. There was a thread on Brooks signing which lasted 5 minutes before being taken down

Pigs are having a good old rant on NK Talk about this and Wilder's interview on FH earlier.

Bless em, they really are traumatised.

Just need to nail James Hanson down to a new 5 year contract now and it's been a decent week.

Would be good to get the light bulbs changed without fetching the ladders from the store cupboard, to be fair. Good Business.
