Plymouth Argyle have been linked with a move for Sheffield United defender Leigh Bromby.
The 26-year old right-back is the subject of a £400,000 bid from Argyle boss Paul Sturrock and the deal could be completed in the next few days, according to a report in a national newspaper.
Bromby, who can also play at centre-back, recently returned to the Sheffield United first team after two months out of the side.
The defender started his career at rivals Sheffield Wednesday and also had loan spells at Mansfield Town and Norwich City, Bromby left Wednesday in 2004 just before Sturrock took over as boss and joined Sheffield United, where he has 18 months left on his contract.
The signing of Bromby would be Sturrock's seventh purchase during the January transfer window.
