He needs to be put out of his misery for everyones sake.
Malky Mackay could be available soon.

We all talk about a Manager out of his depth etc. etc.

But I for one am disappointed with the players, they did this last season under DW (MK I), of going out and giving 60% every game, because they know that the Manager has to be the fall guy.

They pick up good wages every week, (they earn more in a month than most of us get in a year) and they can't even go out there and give a 100% effort to try and win games.

Instead of DW standing there making excuses for them, they should be man enough to stand up and explain to the fans why they are such lazy bunch of Twats.

Yes, I know the 'Buck stops with the Manager' but some these players need to stand up and be counted.

Agree with that. I said after the match on twitter that I thought this group of players was rotten to its very core. Even Morgan couldn't get them to put it in for more than 90 minutes.

Difficult to see where we go from here. Even if Weir goes, we shouldn't throw the whole plan out the window because it hasn't started well. Even though it's the Blades Way, we can't carry on having a new plan every 6 months. I think the best we can hope for at the moment is to stay up this season and then have a massive clear out at the end of the season.

After the Yeovil play-off defeat, it was obvious our players were nowhere near good enough. We now have a better squad (on paper) but they aren't playing any better.

Saw the interview on Look Leeds last night and I have to say that was one of the saddest interviews I've ever seen. It was gut wrenching and Weir looked so dejected, defeated and dare I say it, depressed :(
If I was his line manager at work I'd be very worried as to his emotional state and watching him closely.

I feel the playing staff are letting him down badly, some of them need to grow a pair and instead of wasting their energy having a go at other players, roll their sleeves up and put a shift in, that means in both mind and body. Kin wage robbers some of them at the moment.

The experienced players need to encourage the younger lads not berate them, we're deep in the sh1t and a lot of it is down to them, regardless of tactics, they need to take responsibility for the large wages they are getting every week.

the interview highlighted his inexperience, he had no public face , one where theres always a light , even down a mine shaft, he was like a chilean miner whod been left behind

I thought that after just hearing his interview but now after seeing it aswell. Christ :(

After watching that interview I've changed my feeling of furious (several weeks worth) to pity for David Weir. It was akin to the press conference scene in Mike Bassett: England Manager...Only without a rousing inspirational speech at the end. He is definitely a broken man.

I said during pre-season that a 10th place or higher finish for DW's first season as a Manager would be satisfactory. The team last year was poor after mid-December, selling Blackman and losing Miller to injury was the final shreds of quality that disguised a squad with little ability. Wilson made mistakes (particularly in recruitment) but he kept a mediocre team going as far as it could in the 2nd season with little resources and even less talent at his disposal. Therefore Weir had a job on getting rid of the shite, replacing it and getting them playing together. The club also needed inspiration and how Weir spoke in the start of his reign made us think we found it but if he goes then we are back to square one; a bunch of unfit, mediocre players only now with a serious attitude problem and a lack of fitness to boot.

If it was as simple as culling the squad again and suffering no negative consequences from it, i'd get rid of McMahon, Westlake, Maguire, Williams, Doyle, Flynn, Murphy, Taylor and Porter tomorrow. I thought about Hill, but even with his limitations at least he shows a bit of passion when he puts the shirt on.

This is not the chipper, confident David Weir, that I saw on his appointment. In his present state, I doubt that the poor guy can think straight on football, let alone anything else. He has stated his intent regarding the way he wants to revitalise the way we play. For whatever reason, his plan is not coming to fruition. I do not pretend to know why.

Is it down to tactics? Is it down to certain players who refuse to adapt?

Other teams play the way Weir wants us to play. I am sure that all the players are intelligent enough to know what is needed, so why don't they grow balls or get together as a team to make it work?
I have read on this forum, that players do not communicate, and ignore the basic requirements of a TEAM who are together.
Far be it from me to even attempt to suggest a solution but when I was in charge of a large group, or whatever, they did it my way, or they were given a torch and told to look in the windows of the job centre for new opportunities
Davie Get your head together, if there are those against you. Fuck them off with a capital F

The first manager I worked under here went through a similar experience. The team lost 7 of their first 14 and won only 2. It was horrible to see him deteriorate. He was/is a good coach but he just couldn't get the players to play. The players were prima donnas. There were large schisms in the dressing room. The players were the ones to blame and the supporters and owners knew this. Eventually he was relieved of his duties and replaced by a 56 year old disciplinarian who took no shite from the players. We eventually finished mid table. The way the manager was at the end reminded me of that interview Weir did after Hartlepool. The next season there was a mass clearout of the shite and we were promoted to the second division. As for the poor manager I visited him for 8 months after his sacking and he was really broken. He found it hard to even function on a simple day to day basis. Thankfully he is now recovered and is back in football as a respected coach.
I feel very sorry for David Weir, no human being deserves to be that depressed. He needs an arm round his shoulder from above. But he is in football and we all know we are judged by results. If you're shit you soon found out and you have to come to terms with it, simple as that. I was replaced last year as manager of the U21's by someone who never played the game. He already has more wins than I did from half the amount of games. Hard as it is, I now accept I am not a manger. I am, so I'm told, a half decent coach. Ho Hum.
I am now off to see Germany play Ireland. Don't know who to support.
