Was hoping to find videos for the 1988 play offs matches against Bristol City but ended up finding this match at Twerton Park. I was there. I have been to Eastville (1972 Watney Cup match) and Twerton Park but never been to Ashton Gate!
Paul Williams was number 10 for us and Darren Carr was number 6. Both were signings from Newport County. It was like buying players from Oxfam. Just remembered that Vaughan Ryan was our number 2 that day. He was with us on a month's loan from Wimbledon

Thats a good find.

Williams played due to Deano serving a suspension for nailing Nicky Law on Boxing Day.

Quite a few of that Rovers side went in to better things: Nigel Martyn, Gary Penrice and Ian Holloway (yes, the same one) all ended up in the PL. They won the division the following year.

Remember going to the Bristol Rovers at Twerton Park game with one f*** off hangover. My sister's 18th Birthday do the night before at Intake Club, carried on at our house after, which only ended when one of my mates (a Blade) squared up with my uncles (both pigs) while my aunties were running around like headless chickens and a definite no-no one of them phoning the other pigs (plod not more W*****dayites) to sort it!
