How good were we then?!

Was it down to Clough's tactics, Bristol having an off day, or Done getting the blades train rolling..

Just got back..... (Local for me)
Tactically we were spot on, had the better of the first half but didn't get shots away when we should have done. Bristol scored with what seemed their first attack. Second half we put the ball into the box and took our chances well, Done looks to be a great player, two poachers goals and a great finish from Murphy leaving the defender for dead before a clinical finish. Bristol were big and fairly lumbering (swindon look a better team to me) and we kept it on the ground and seemed to find plenty of spacious make and receive passes. Our fans were noisy as usual, not much atmosphere from the Bristol fans. All in all a great day out, need to keep this winning streak going now and see where we are at the end of the month.

Most important result of the season by a country mile. The team has created chances all season and dominated countless games without winning. Finally, we have a busy, mobile striker who can finish, the goals are rolling and every game looks winnable. Top 2 may just be out of reach but we should enjoy trying.

Who's going to County?

Me (always was). And probably a few thousand more (after today)!

Fantastic day out.
Played them off the park for large chunks of thr game and made them look ordinary, they clearly get a large portion of golas on the break and with hoofing it up to the giants.
Our movement up front was the best I've seen us all season.
Done, Coutts and you know who have give us some real pace.
Some nice understandings beginning to be form, especially down the flanks, where often we gave their lumbering backline a torrid time.
Thought Jay McEveley had a flawless first half.

Got caught out, giving the ball away on the right wing deep in their half. We didn't close down their two on one break very well, one deflection to the winger another on the cross off Kennedy and it was suddenly on a plate for a tap in for Smith. A really lucky flukey goal.
Looked like we should have had at least one if not two penatlies, the foul on Done looked a cert.

Wasn't Higdon going to play if fit?
I can't for the life of me think how on earth he would have fitted into that side today.
As someone once said you don't have to be a good manager, just a lucky one.

Me and HB Jnr got ours a while back and been planning our pre-match visit to Spoons. But come on Fellow Blades.. let's get as many there as we can and roar on those Red and White Wizzzards.

Last couple of seasons we've taken big numbers I think? 3000+....

We've had a lot of games recently so you can understand if a few have opted to let the bank balance recover for a bit!

Here here for Jay McEveley loads on here knocking him and today he had a cracking game, amazing what getting a goal does to lift a player. I don't think there was a single bad player on the pitch today, after Baxter went off that is. Holt looked good again

And being given the Armband. ..a masterstroke to rebuild confidence in a key player.
