... was on a train to London with all the other supporters straight after the game (and I do mean literally straight after, we didn't stop at a pub or anything, we just went straight from the ground to the train station). He was with a few mates (not players AFAIK) and was still wearing his training tracksuit. They were carrying crates of beer.

Everyone in the carriage was slagging him off when he got off, the general consensus being that he should be travelling back with the rest of the team and should be concentrating on preparing for the play-offs.

What's all that about then?

(While retelling this story to someone in the pub at London Bridge I was told Cotterill was on their train in similar circumstances, can't confirm this because I didn't see it).

Brian Howard, there used to be a footballer at the lane called that, whatever happened to him I wonder?

Saw him after the match outside the ground, he couldn't have played yesterday because of his knees, apparently.

I don't ever remember their being a footballer called Brian Howard at the lane

I remember someone coming in living off one goal and never meeting expectations now if I could only remember his name...

Brian Howard and a crate of beer  what ever next :lol:

Beattie and Hendrie were dropped off at Watford gap, bloody part timers

Man of the match for me last night. Maybe formation or lack of games has had an effect on his style of play so far. There are far worse players / performances per ratio played that should be scrutinised. Eg the ginger one.

Alot of people know how much I've disliked Howard this season.

But last night I thought he was probably the best player on the pitch.

Was much much better last night, nothing to do with tactics. More his attitude.

I've hardly been Howard's biggest fan but he was vastly improved last night. I agree with Foxy about it not being tactics too. He didn't hide (all the time!), and just looked so much more committed.

More please!

It was partially tactics, we had an extra man in the midfield and howard finally managed to motivate himself to move into the open spaces, and we wasnt thumping the ball to shit bag up front for alot of the game and actually got it down on the floor.

You've hit the nail on the head fella. We've had that formation before (or at least variations on a theme), and he's hidden himself away. Last night, as we all say, he got himself going and played football.

he will have a brilliant game on monday aswell for you
and in the final if you get there .
he'll have one or two man of the match games next year too if your on sky a lot but if your not on tv leave him on the bench
