According to BBC match preview https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45999806: "Sheffield United's last 47 Championship goals have been scored by players from either Britain or the Republic of Ireland."

I think they are tracing that back to Donaldson's brace against Villa last Christmas. But I thought the Don was from Bradford (confirmed by his Wikipedia page - he played for Jamaica but he also played for the "England National Game XI").

So when WAS the last goal scored by a Blades player from outside of the British isles? I can remember Edgar scoring against Bradford under Adkins but there surely must have been someone else since then?

Carter-Vickers was American, but like Donaldson was born in England.

Edgar must be the answer as we've not had any other players from outside the UK or Ireland since then.

Given every time it’s talked about Dellas’s goal against Pompey gets further and further out, it was probably him that scored for us literally from outside the British Isles. Probably hit it from his native Greece!

Lavery was born in Canada, but played for Northern Ireland though, so still British. We've had quite a few born in England who've played for other countries.

Before Edgar, the previous player to score in a competitive game who was neither born-in nor represented a nation from the UK or Ireland was Erik Tonne in the Paint Pot Trophy in the 11-12 season.

In the league you have to go back to 10-11 for Riise against Leeds.

The last non-British/Irish EU player to score for us was Bogdanovic (born in Libya but played for Malta) in February 2011. Jean Calve also scored for us that season.

Didn't Cuvelier score in the cup for us?

He’s Canadian. By that metric, Donaldson is Jamaican and thus the last non-British and Irish scorer. Despite being Bradford-born :D
