If it’s true he’s dithering over a contract then he needs to do one. Only started playing anything like he should when contract due to run out ..funny That
If*

I'd get the problem if it was July but it's still not been 2 weeks since we lost the final.

I'd guess every important person involved in any of these decisions are currently on holiday.

He's been offered a new contract and he's considering it. It's June. What's the problem?

Bizarre post. I’m sure he timed all of his injuries perfectly
When he was fit over the last few years he was atrocious and only in the last six months has he been any good. You must have a very short memory on how bad he was.
Small basic for the club to offer with the rest on performance related pay. Or bye bye
Nothing bizarre about the facts

By the same token, other clubs (who can see all these same facts) might have a different opinion to you. And the club might have a different opinion.
So he'll rightly weigh up what we've offered him against what other people might be offering.

Agree it’s all about context and balance.

For most of his contract he’s generally put in 5 out of 10 performances, sometimes 3 out of 10. He had a valid excuse of injures but it seems pretty clear he was upper league 1 standard and at best lower championship standard.

However in recent weeks he’s consistently put in 7 out of 10 performances, his rating has been helped due to his excellent attitude and work rate.

So recently he’s been OK to good and now looks to be a decent player (average Championship standard). However there’s not a single game in the last 4 years when he’s been impressive or great.

I would still probably keep him as a squad backup player on drastically reduced wages. I put him in a similar bracket to McBurnie, he’s never going to be PL standard but he had a great attitude, good to have around the training ground and think both can still do a job at Championship level.

Ive a feeling he will be going back over the Pennines.......Hecky knows all about him and PNE will be looking for another striker with Riis opting for another challenge elsewhere.....Preston have a little fascination with Sheffield ex's...Lowe,Evans,Hecky,Valentin.
