I just hope he's unaware of some of the stuff chucked in his direction on this forum because it's abhorrent.
Just shows how people see things.
Think the personal, disrespectful jokey stuff has been quite minimal……but still wouldn’t say any of it has been abhorrent.
Of course there’s been negative criticism but it’s arguably justified…..he’s receiving far more personal support on here than negative stuff.
Always think it’s unfortunate how some people struggle to think critically, they want to put a label on someone, then that’s it, they are written off.
You see the “Brewster is crap” comments, but then someone who supports him will feel the need to reply “Brewster is brilliant”,
when both comments are inaccurate. In recent games Brewster has been 6 or 7 out of 10 (he’s been decent and contributing).
Due to scoring last night and being involved in the sending off he deserves at least a 7.5 out of 10, one of his best ever displays at the club.
Regards Brewster, the recent, extended playing time has done him good, he’s now up to speed and playing reasonably well.
However for a team challenging top 2, we need occasional 8 and 9 out performances, can’t remember Brewster ever being a man of the match contender
And if he wants a new contract he’s got to putting in the odd display where he’s on fire and the opposition can’t handle him.
The problem is, when we have Cannon and BBD, then you’d expect Brewster to be sub and occasionally used towards the end of matches.
So the lack of play time might stop his progress, this week might be his final spell of playing regular football for Sheff Utd.
Think he’s starting to show signs he might be able to reach average Championship standard, so he does have quality and isn’t crap.
The problem is we’re hoping to reach the PL, so having an average standard Championship level player is below our required levels.
If we’re promoted I don’t see anyway we’ll offer him a contact, if we fail to be relegated then I think we will offer a contract but on a much much lower salary.
