Brewster

You have absolutely no idea if we’re paying him £35k. You’ve literally made that up.

He’s not up to it, we can all see that, he’ll be released at the end of the season but just purely speculating his wage because you’ve seen it on a BS website is just nonsense
Exactly... I'm sure he's on a touch over minimum wage, maybe £15 an hour for a night game with shift allowance factored in... Which to be fair is still obscene for the performances he puts in

As crap as I think Brewster is (we’re on the same page) I don’t get this playing him on the left or in CAM. He played alright up top against Millwall & scored yet he’s never played in that position since.

I presume that’s down to a lack of options. If we had a fully fit squad plus 2/3 additions I don’t think he’d be in the squad. It’s just needs must at the moment. I’m not on the page of get One/ Marsh on instead.

Brewster defended alright today, the stuff we pay him for he was pretty useless at.

It's hard to feel sorry for him when a practically does fuck all for 35 grand a week & I graft my bollocks off for 40k a year
By jan 8th he's already earned what I will get all year

Sounds to me like your problem is with the wider economic state of football in general and not with Brewster.

He may achieve practically "fuck all" but he's not doing practically "fuck all" - otherwise Wilder would pick Oné or Marsh ahead of him. Unless Wilder is an idiot as well?

He can't help what he was paid and he's sure as hell not about to turn around and give it back (who would?) but it's not his fault that the wages in football are totally out of sync with the real world.

It's the same reason I haven't bought a shirt or a season ticket this year, and haven't bothered to go to many games either...it's extortionate and absolutely ridiculous and I'm not up for paying through the nose to fund millionaire lifestyles.

Do I blame Rhian Brewster for that? No.

Do I want him to continue representing Sheffield United? Also no.

But any young person who has a dream and works hard on achieving it, then has their dreams scuppered through injuries, poor luck and being elevated above their level by people in their industry...you've got to feel a bit sorry for them.

Would have benefitted from a decent transfer to somewhere he could be developed and have good players around him...anyone who thought he was ready to be a line leading striker for a top half Premier League team (that desperately needed a goalscorer) was off their heads

For people feeling sorry for him or think criticism is harsh, he's a millionaire who has been consistently unable to do his job properly. Not his fault, but he's still richer then most fans will ever be and he's been almost constantly injured or shit.
What's money got to do with it.?

Which is well above the average uk salary. Brewster gets more in a few weeks than most on this forum will get in a year.

Some of you need to get beyond the salary. It's always the same, Beattie had a Lambo and you all had a fucking meltdown, just the same with Brewdog. He's a better footballer than any one of you slagging him off will ever be, he achieved more in the game by the time he was 17 than any of you will...then the injuries started.

We have professional coaches, a fairly astute manager and I can't remember an occasion where I've heard them give him grief but you armchair experts? Fuck me, you're only happy when you're crying because somebody's making good money, that's the bottom line, you're jealous as fuck and it's eating you up.

I so want it.to come good for him but just can't see it happening for him at SUFC. Can't see him leaving in the JTW because of the small size of pure squad.

Got to say is prefer One or Marsh to be given a chance especially as Brewster won't be here next season.

I still don't feel sorry for him ......that's all I said ....
He can probably retire & live in luxury for rest of his life ....
Why should he get pity ?????

I find it tragic we are discussing one of our players like this.
You think he’s doing this on purpose? It’s all about confidence and he’s never going to get it back without support.
I think he has been treated well by the fans in the ground, he has had support throughout his 4 years. I think fans at other clubs would have been a lot harsher on him. As for this forum and social media well that's a different story but that is the the way of the world sadly. If he's got any sense he would stay well away from any online platforms. I'm not going to give him any personal shit or abuse but I don't think he's good enough for this level and everyone I know who follows united thinks the same. I didn't understand the thought process at all today bringing Peck off for Brewster.

It’s got a lot to do with it. He’s being paid an obscene amount of money for a job he’s not very good at! Do you think he cares less about criticism? He’s laughing all the way to his mansion. He couldn’t give two shits about the club, the fans or what we think about him

This is just a poisonous thread, and no one is going to change their mind on him. I thought the worst thing today was Moore not looking up and seeing Burrows in acres of space and probably on a 90/10 chance to score but the focus is always Brewster.
It's not his fault regarding the price tag, that lands at door of our beloved manager! Brewsters shit end of!

I doubt very much we are and I would like to know where that £35k figure is from. I read some time ago that he actually took a pay cut (and was on under £20k) to join us as he wanted to have regular first team football. However I concede that my information has no more credence than those quoting £35k and that even £20k a week is still a waste of money!

At least I dont live in Page Hall you f@cking Melt
Neither do I but I also doubt your super or furry
Page Hall is probably on the Dole ...
No I'm in a relatively well paid job (well above the average ) and don't have to work that hard to get it but I'm also astute to realise that having a go at footballer because of what his perceived wage is irrelevant he can't help what he gets paid the same way you cannot seem to get paid more but rather than deal with your inadequacies you choose to take it out on a young footballer have a good new year

Hate Brewster, he’s a cancer at this club, the sooner he stops stealing wages from this club, the better.

Name me a worse signing in our history (when you take into account the t’fer fee and wages)?

He doesn’t give a sh*t about Blades.

Sorry, he’s a “cancer at this club”?

Are you serious? You’d compare a footballer to something that’s taken so many lives because he’s not matched your armchair expectations?

I don’t think football, or public forums, are for you if so.

Oddly enough, the few who are repeatedly banging on about him a) can’t seem to understand he didn’t set the fee and b) don’t criticise the person who chased him must have believed he was worth £35k a week (or insert your own figure) .

Impressive from Moore he managed to not have a shot or bother to lay it off. Golden chance that as he had time and decided to do fuck all.

Hate. Cancer. Stealing.

Jesus Christ.

That is bang out of order. A “cancer at this club”. What are you on about? What a vile excuse for a human being you really are.

I've changed my mind on Brewster after today, he needs to move to league one. Although having said that he hasn't been helped by Wilder playing him out wide or as a midfielder, today the obvious move should have been Brewster for Moore who had already missed two decent chances and given the ball away time after time.
You can see the lad is desperate to do well but the shot that went out for a throw was a desperate schoolkid choice, respect to him that he will play anywhere that Wilder asks him to but if Chris is going to play him out of position then it is best for all concerned that he moves on, as things are I can only see league one teams being interested on vastly reduced wages. Shame really he looked a real hot prospect when we signed him.
