Again, it's a thread about Rhian Brewster.

And a lot of people have had it with him.

Can you honestly blame them at this point?

Sorry, I missed the other ten threads devoted to the other ten players on the pitch today being blamed.

A lot of people need to change their expectations and get off the bandwagon.

Difference in the two teams was that when we are on top like we were first half in key moments like peck having a great oppurtunity to play someone in but electing to turn back towards goal and play a safe pass or o hare having the choice of two players to play in who. Were in acres of space but instead went for the third who was being marked and really had no chance of receiving ball

Not to mention tubby hamer treating the ball like an unexploded bomb in a episode of danger mouse

Shame he doesn't have the same attitude towards booze and kebabs

As l said. It’s his price tag. A deal between the club and Liverpool. How’s that his fault? I’m surprised some aren’t doubling up being his and PA’s fault whilst giving the person who chased him * a free ride. It makes you think.

* not a go at Wilder, just stating the reality……
Well exactly, obviously you can't blame him for taking a great deal for him. You can blame him to failing to live up to the potential that was obviously there.

Can you think of any reason why Brewster might have a specific thread about him and not many other players?

Even ignoring the fact he's been here four and a half years?

Not really sure why he was played in a ‘10’ as it displaced O’Hare but Brewster was far from the worst player today.
Question is why was COH having to play JRS position (hence Brewster in No10)? Is JRS injured, chucking his dummy out or just sh!t?

So the jibes about the price aren’t fair?

Personally l despise him for having weak hamstrings…….. oh and using possible career ending injuries as an “excuse”.

Yep, people confuse his price tag with his ability and therefore deem it necessary to scrutinise his every move to see if it matches their exact and inflated expectations.

I don't care about his price tag.

He's still been a disappointment if we'd only paid four or five million for him.

As has been said, pound for pound, he's the worst signing in the clubs history. Insofar as we want to blame anyone for the disaster his signing has been, I don't think we can totally exculpate the man himself, though, as you have said, no doubt others were at fault as well.

I'm not sure we can "blame" Brewster or anyone else for that matter for not being good enough. The plain fact is that he is not up to championship standard and that making him our record signing was a mistake of monumental proportions.

They were all wank today, not just Rhian. Too much Christmas turkey 🦃. Why are we always shit after any break/holiday?!

The thing is O’Hare isn’t all that good. His end product at times is questionable which is why he wasn’t snapped up by a premier league club in the summer but I can see he’s trying his best. He’s applying 100% effort and I’m sure he won’t look back on his career with any regrets therefore he won’t get any slagging from me. Brewster is completely the opposite. A complete parasite on the club.
Parasite? Really? Some people really are thick.

Brewster is contributing more than expected
Er, please explain this as though you were talking to a five year old.
Exactly what DOES he contribute?
All the above 30 minutes after FT.
All of the above were perfectly valid comments

Ps. Only nine more goals to go.
At least Brewster occasionally retains possession.....
Is this what you mean by contributing more than expected? He occasionally keeps possession?

Have you been expecting him to carry the whole team?

Not a single player played well today, I get that this lad divides opinion but singling him out for todays loss is beyond reaching.
Where have i single him out blaming him for todays result? You should read what i have printed . I am pointing out what he has achieved over the last 4 years not just today . 23 million for a striker who has contributed as much has he has over 4 years is not good and needs addressing .

He's playing quite regularly and usually looking fairly competent. He's added something for us a number of times, usually as a sub

Occasionally retaining possession is better than trying retarded self indulgent flicks, playing shit passes that aren't on and running into brick walls constantly like our popular 'star player' does

It’s no good having “blistering pace” if you don’t know where to run to. Like many on here I have supported him every step of the way, but with his injuries aside, Rhians problems have always been between his ears.

Brewster was better than Hamer today.

But one is a fans favourite and one isn’t.

(By the way both were poor today)
Hamer has 4 goals and 6 assists. Brewster has 1 goal. I know which player is having the better season.

You can’t judge players on one game. I’m judging Brewster on 3 and 1/2 years. So your argument makes no sense. I’ll keep waiting for Brewster’s 9/10 performance.

Agree....Brewster was better than Hamer, thought Hamer looked a bit lost, was really quiet and hardly touched the ball.

Brewster was more involved and was OK most the time (especially 1st half but he faded in the 2nd half), but yet again without doing anything incisive.
We have players like Rak Sakyi, Hamer and O'Hare who try things, pieces of skill and difficult passes
sometimes it works and sometimes they cheaply give the ball away but at least they're trying to create chances.

However Brewster always seems to play safe like he's easing himself back from injury. He needs to start taking risks and upping his levels.
What's confused issues is that he was bought as a striker but seems to have lost his striking instincts, pace and confidence
so he's being tried in midfield but although he's OK there, we should be playing a proper creative midfielder there, like Hamer or even O'Hare.

I don't really agree with "Brewster is terrible" comments, think he's actually quite consistent, always an underwhelming to OK 5 or 6 out of 10.
Compare this to JRS who has recently had games where he's 3 or 4 out of 10 but we've all seen when Rak-Sakyi is in the mood he's produced moments of being a 9 our of 10 player, same with Hamer, against Burnley would give him 4 out 10 but we've seen a few games where he's 8 out of 10.

In the last 4 years I've rarely seen Brewster hit 7 out of 10 in any game, it's a constant OK-ish 5 or 6 out of 10.

I think what annoys and frustrated me is that in my time supporting United, £250,000 was a huge sum for us to pay for a player. We even had the Blades Revival asking the long suffering fans to divvy up for the likes of Richard Cadette. We then moved on with Don Hutchison (still my favourite midfielder I’ve seen at the Lane) being our first £1 million player. When a club like ours was paying £50 million on Brewster and McBurnie, I was thinking ‘these must be alright’. When in fact both have been / were a huge disappointment. And I do still lay most of the blame on Wilder. I hope our new owners do some due diligence on any players he might want in the future. Fair do’s he’s bought well this summer but when your talking of fees of £5 million plus my trust starts to waver.

Off the bench!
and usually looking fairly competent.
Looking fairly competent is hardly an endorsement. I expect all in a blades shirt to be at least competent. And according to you He's only been fairly competent. Not even consistently competent!
He's added something for us a number of times,
Apart from his one goal this season, exactly what else has he added, on a number of occasions?

I think his one pass to Burrows that opened up their entire defence was excellent.
