Brewster

It’s not only you. Pound for pound he is the worst player in the clubs history. 5 goals in 4 years for 23 million and 35k a week and yet there’s idiots who defend him. Absolutely gobsmacking really.
Nail on head. I'm sure he's a lovely bloke and all that, but his signing has been an utter disaster.

He was obviously a very promising young player (such that Liverpool put a clause in the sale contract that they could buy him back for a set fee, so they clearly felt he might make it big). But for whatever reason, his mojo has just gone.

He'll be released at the end of the season. That's our biggest signing being let go at the age of only 25.

Not sure. You had better ask CW that question i suppose.

I would have started with Brooks myself, but then I'm not SUFC manager nor do I see the players training each day. Neither do you.
Wilder thinks his 5 year experiment with Brewster will.pay off eventually. Will the Americans be as patient, they will want payback in goals from their strikers.

For the sake of going over old ground again for the millionth time...

Brewster isn't good enough, we all know this. It's plainly obvious to see for any reasonable person with two functioning eyeballs connected to a brain.

The real question is why he's so vehemently defended and offered special protection by a certain section of our fans?

The likes of which I've never seen before for any player past or present.

If you slag Robinson, Burrows, Peck or Shackleton off nobody bats an eyelid.

Dare to criticise Brewster and we get people wading straight in every time saying it's bullying or he's being singled out. Bullshit.

I'm sure Dean Hammond and Ivo Grbic tried their best for us and were both nice blokes but they both got ripped to shreds for being absolutely shit.

And rightly so.

What is so special about Rhian fucking Brewster?

The real question is why he's so vehemently defended and offered special protection by a certain section of our fans?”

How many extra eggs are in that pudding?

Any vehemence is all the other way.

Great post, absolutely perfectly put.

And no one can argue any of that. A fair and reasonable, and sadly accurate portrayal of the lads time with us. The issue on here is with the “fucking useless” “worst player ever” “moron” comments from the less reasonable on here.

Nothing special about Brewster but that pendulum swings both ways.

I don’t think he’s a great player by any stretch an has had a horrid time with us, but equally I’ll defend anyone when the pile on is unnecessary.

These fans with low expectations are always the ones to regurgitate the same price tag bollocks on threads like this, and seem to be waiting for him to do something wrong before waded in. It’s pathetic.

My original point in question, why single him out today when everyone was wank?

Is it his fault we wasted 24million on him. NO.
Is it his fault he's completely mugging the club off paying him over 30k per week. YES.
Is it his fault he's truly fucking useless and by far the worst striker we've ever had who's been here 5 years. YES.

He's a fucking joke, can't wait till he fucks off for good, utter waste of space joke of a player.

Sean, it's a dead duck.

Accept it and move on.

Can’t see it improving if l’m honest but l’ve seen far worse players wearing the shirt. His price tag is the point for most, at a time when, for us, we were paying big money. That’s just how it was. Wilder wanted him, PA backed him, injuries kiboshed his career.

Younger fans who missed some of poor poor players we’ve had l can partially understand but l can only think some of the over 60’s must have spent a lot of lower league seasons shopping in the Castle Market for a chicken, some cowheel, some wool and chatting to Brian at Harringtons on Saturday afternoons than going to the Lane.

100% agree with this. Fans claim he’s putting in effort must be watching a different game to me. I’d love to see a stat of how many miles Brewster has run compared to some of our other players. He can’t help being signed for 22.5 million more than he’s worth but he can fucking bust a gut to do everything he can to impact a game like O’Hare does.

How has he been singled out?

It's a thread about Rhian Brewster.

Nobody is blaming him for today's loss, that would be daft.

I've also seen Souza and Moore criticised today. Were they also singled out?

Have you stepped in to defend Souza and Moore from being singled out?

Spoiler alert, they’re all NO’s.

He's obviously "a good lad" , we don't want to hurt his mental health, money doesn't make you happy. It's fucking sickening I read this shit on here, fuck him, he's a joke, mugging us clowns off paying to go and watch. Horrific footballer. Rinsed our football club big time.

Have either been subject to similar, repetitive abuse?

Shite. As always. Off the back of a couple of good performances.. reverted back to previous form.

If he was a young lad like One or Marsh who cost us little or nothing , people would could him a lot more slack. But he's our record signing and in his mid 20s and doesn't perform noticeably better than those two.

The thing is O’Hare isn’t all that good. His end product at times is questionable which is why he wasn’t snapped up by a premier league club in the summer but I can see he’s trying his best. He’s applying 100% effort and I’m sure he won’t look back on his career with any regrets therefore he won’t get any slagging from me. Brewster is completely the opposite. A complete parasite on the club.

As l said. It’s his price tag. A deal between the club and Liverpool. How’s that his fault? I’m surprised some aren’t doubling up being his and PA’s fault whilst giving the person who chased him * a free ride. It makes you think.

* not a go at Wilder, just stating the reality……

You want examples of Souza being ripped to shreds last season.

Fucking hell, what time are you going to bed?

😅😅

I’ll wait up. You can stick to just moron and wage thief comments if you want. The more football related stuff.

Agree. Ohare gives it everything every single game. He's a good championship player too, no higher. Brewster doesn't give it his all, he's also utterly shit, 4th division level at best. Tbh if I was Bradford or donny or port vales owner I still wouldn't even dream of offering him a deal in the summer

Brewster was a gamble - he starred in that under 17s / under 18s World Cup or whatever it was. He was in the same company as Foden, Gibbs White etc and was a stand out player. But for us to fork out £23.5 million pounds plus his huge (for us) wages was insane. Beyond stupid. After we secured that 9th place in the PL we should have been looking at recruiting some experienced players.
