I've nothing against RB personally. He might be the nicest person in the world. But I don't think there can be any serious doubt that, in a value for money basis, he's the worse signing in the clubs history.
I'm not sure anyone's going to disagree. But he has also been screwed by injuries... Which makes a lot (not all) of the sweeping criticisms very unfair.

The thing I like about Brewdog is how much he makes some of you cry babies whine. Wilder likes him, coaching staff and players like him, he seems like a decent kid but you can't get over your bitterness because the poor fucker's had an absolute nightmare with injuries.

Keep crying, keep bitching, he'll keep picking up his pay packet so it's a win win. I hope he gets fit and whether it's with us or anybody else, I hope he can resurrect his career. As to the whiny boys? Not sure what you'll cry about if Brewdog and the Prince are gone. Maybe look for a new scapegoat, how about Blaster? Young, great prospect, and has a bad injury, fits the bill just right ffs.
I like the lad and would love him to come good, just don't think it will happen here. As for a win win, it's certainly not for United as things stand or the supporters.

He was largely shite before the injuries.

The thing that infuriates about Brew Dog say what you want but there is definitely a footballer in there,

He can strike a good shot
He's got a footballers touch for passing at the right weight
He's pretty good at pressing
In the 10 role he's been decent
And he does try

I don't think I've wanted a player to score more than Brew - please let it be tonight.. and the fans all get ON THE PITCH.
You’ve just described quite a lot of footballers around the world, most of them don’t play at the elite level. It’s hardly an indicator that “there’s a player in there” because he can:

  • kick a ball hard towards a goal
  • control and pass a ball
  • run after a ball when the opposition has it

That is pretty entry level stuff for footballers in my opinion.

Yeah I've played football at various Levels - but the one thing missing from my CV is U17 World Cup winner - yes he's been pretty crap for us - but don't think for 1 minute he he isn't better than 99.99 percent of footballers around the world.

The problem is....he's on nearly £40K a week.

He'll do well to be offered £10K at another club in the Championship, don't think a league 1 club could afford him.

So Brewster will only agree to a mutual termination if we pay off his contract in full.
Basically if we want him to go in Jan, it's going to cost us, alternately we could just keep him at the club and use him as a sub, better than nothing.
Think Brewster is probably just about a better option that One.
I imagine that if the contract is cancelled and paid him off , the club would save Employers National Insurance contributions plus pension. At a wage of £40 k a week that would amount to a lot of money…….

I agree with you, there is also lot of Brewster revisionism in this thread since he has had such lengthy spells out injured.

His best period was when he was starting to hit a bit form in the 21/22 season which was at the end of Slav's reign and Hecky taking charge. He scored 3 in 8 appearances and scored earlier at the start of the season in the EFL cup. Then once he scored at home in the 2-0 win against Luton a game later he does his hammy which kept him out til the following season.

Then he was fit the following season and had a bit of a run of games. Got that assist against Swansea and scored that goal away at Stoke then bang goes his hamstring a few games later.

I do think the CAM role would suit him better these days.

That all said I think his career hangs by a thread through no fault of his own.

You don't go through the Chelsea and Liverpool academies and various England youth levels if you're crap at football.

Yes, his time with us has been hugely disappointing for both parties.

But the fans that can't wait to jump on here to gleefully announce how bad he is every time he gets any minutes and doesn't score are pathetic. If he does score at some point you'll be fucking gutted.

He’s certainly much better than I ever was but that’s not really the point. He’s not been very good and the characteristics outlined weren’t really things that mark him as any different from a lot of players at a lot of levels. Strange that these are the only things he seems to have in his favour.

It’s this kind of nonsense that makes me laugh. I don’t think I’ve ever been gutted when a Blades player has scored. I want him to do well, I also acknowledge that he’s been shite for us and would like him to either be good or leave. Shouldn’t even be a controversial opinion but some people won’t have him criticised for some reason.

Objective criticism is one thing but often it isn't. Jumping on the forum to slag the player off, at any and every opportunity.

He needs prolonged game time and has to score a goal,it might just kick-start his career again.Tyrese is prime example of how getting game time and scoring goals transforms a player.

Have you checked out the players in that under 17 squad? Only four of them have made any significant impact on the game since.
Brewster is not one of them.

As for your maths, youre saying Brewster is in the top 0.01% of footballers in the world. If that's the case why hasn't he scored a goal this season?

Brewster has had the equivalent of a season and a half of playing time to score five goals.
Tyrese has had seven games and has scored more already!

Lets hope it's tonight DJ-because tonight Brew Dog leads the line and tonight - we get' ON THE PITCH'

Let’s hope tonight is the night then. Happy to eat a tiny slither of humble pie if he makes a positive contribution.

If you can give me an objective measure to prove my opinion incorrect I’m happy to hear it.

Would seem a fair point.

However from the very beginning you could see that Tyrese had a good technique, decent 1st touch and generally all his shots on target or close to hitting the target. Tyrese down fall was being a bit slow and not looking confident but he was OK, even in his early matches and has gradually become better.

Brewster has generally showed nothing to little, in fact he seems to have lost his instinct and confidence to be a striker because you can see he prefers to drop deeper. Also seems to have poor technique for a striker too. It was there a few year back....he needs to rediscover it.

Anyway we'll get a better picture tonight because he's starting against Millwall...hope he does well...even a 6 out 10 showing will be fine...it's a start.
