Adrian Littlejohn scored 8 Premier League goals in 27 appearances during his first full season. Within a few years he was playing for Plymouth in L1.Brewster scored 10 goals in 20 games for Swansea in the Championship - a very good performance across almost half a season for a young player.
Fitness permitting - and that's the big question - that doesn't seem like the record of a player who's destined to end up kicking around L1 and L2.
In the previous couple of seasons he'd scored 1 goal in 44 games for Walsall. In (I think) Division 4.Adrian Littlejohn scored 8 Premier League goals in 27 appearances during his first full season. Within a few years he was playing for Plymouth in L1.

I've no idea if we'll see the Resurrection of Rhian Brewster - and if we do I hope we don't have to wait till Easter - but it seems pretty ridiculous to assert that he never had anything about him.
In other words Wednesday can have him! That doesn’t make sense
Is he? I’d say he’s had a handful of appearances where he’s been 6/10. The rest have been nowhere near that level. This is different to Brewster because he is consistent, consistently 6 out of 10 but never looks like scoring or assisting.
This is pretty much my opinion of Brewster too. I'd love to watch him score 15-20 or so goals this season, but he won't.What is it, five goals in as many seasons? Sorry but he doesn't cut it for me.
I'd be delighted to be proved wrong. But I can't ever see him coming up to expectations in a Blades shirt.
He definitely does. Looked good as a sub recently, and Moore either isn't fully fit or simply hasn't been good. Or both.In his last game, on saturday, he played well.
That's the top and bottom of it.
He deserves a start in midweek.
That stadium being the lane?He definitely does. Looked good as a sub recently, and Moore either isn't fully fit or simply hasn't been good. Or both.
Swansea might be the perfect storm for him to get a goal, they play around with the ball at the back (poorly at the moment), he's had a number of opportunities to get fit, and it's at a stadium he's previously done well at.
Proud member of the Brewster Brigade here.

I'm not his biggest fan by any means but I'm intrigued by why his performance on saturday looked like he was 'running down the remainder of his contract'?I'd be happy if he scored 5 goals, that would be a good season for him and it would go a long way to restoring his confidence.
But we've got to a point now where he's just running down the remainder of his contract.
At the end of the season Wilder should shake his hand and then both parties go their separate ways.
That's what's best for the club and Brewster.
It didn't work out for him here but that's football and that's life.

Slim man id play him up front with Moore and drop o'hareIn his last game, on saturday, he played well.

He was better than O'Hare...He's not going to be offered a new contract by the club unless he produces something extraordinary in the the remaining eight months.
With the best will in the world, that's not going to happen.
I didn't say his performance looks like he's running down his contract.
I'm sure he's trying his best.
He was better than O'Hare...
This. 100% this.I don't think that starting Brewster is a viable option. We have to try and keep him fit until January at the very least because there aren't any other viable options. His injury record is appalling and asking him to start is really taking a huge risk. I think it'd make much more sense to keep the starting minutes to Moore and Campbell and ask Brewster to do no more than 30 mins a time.
'Running down the remainder of his contract' is implying he isn't trying or impacting games, when in reality he has been the last couple of games? What's that got to do with Brewster's contract expiring at the end of the season?

Maybe you need to rephrase it
76 league appearances, 4 goals.
22 league appearances since he last scored.
4 league goals from 8.4 xg in his Blades career.
Cries out for a start if you ask me.

He's not played upfront once in these sub appearances. I'd play him where he looked good the other day, in place of O'Hare. If he didn't cost what he did and come from where he came from, there wouldn't be one fan calling for him to start.
Our style needs a focal point and a player than can hold the ball up and bring our midfield in. OK that player currently isn't hitting the net, but Brewster can't do any of those things.
I agree with this and also not sure he is a good fit for the starting role anyway. We want him on against tiring legs, not being forced into holding play up. its got recipe for injury written all over it.I don't think that starting Brewster is a viable option.
