Brewster

Perrleeeease can we kill this thread now? Liverpool had our pants down, Brewster is history and we all move on - the constant recycling of the same points of view is seriously boring 🥱 .
Can we please keep the thread active? Brewster has had horrendous luck with injuries, but he's a Blade and tries his hardest, as well as being a positive influence in the dressing room.

A lot of it does get recycled and boring though to be fair.

Oh dear.. I was watching Brewster closely today especially second half and he still does not seem to know where to be when our other players have the ball, what runs to make, what space to take up.. I understood that somewhat when he first arrived but he’s in his mid 20s now and experienced he should know the basics of the role by now and he doesn’t seem to. Compare his movement and positioning to that of Campbell in his a cameo and it’s night and day.

It’s just not going to work out for Brewster however much we want it to be otherwise

Exactly this he's completely clueless, there were times when hamer etc tried flicks or was looking for through balls for him and he was on a different wavelength.

He’s supposed to be a goalscorer and he was the only striker on the pitch. Yet he doesn’t take the penalty. Instead a left back takes it. Tells me everything I need to know. Zero bottle.
You really are an angry, hateful little human being aren’t you. Absolutely pathetic. There are many many strikers who DO NOT TAKE PENALTIES. Simply they just do not fancy it. Nothing to do with bottle or anything else. Brewster can do nothing right on your eyes you’ve made that perfectly clear many times. You clearly have an agenda and are straight on this thread every week slagging him off.
He wears the red and white of Sheffield United, the team you supposedly support. Grow up and lay off.

Course he is. Because Brewster is shit. What sort of striker allows himself to be passed up for penalty duties. Could you imagine Shearer being told he wasn’t on pens?
Honestly all you’re interested in is Brewster. Every game finishes you log on here and dig him out.

Ridiculous. He didn’t have a bad game today at all, he’s been rubbish the last few but I was content with his performance today.

He did well in the first half, some of his passes were very confident and straight to feet,1 in particular to Hamer was a dream but Hamer miss controlled it. 2nd half he went into Lala land a little and it passed him by. We controlled from start to finish, played well. Move on.

Is Brewster playing better than when we signed him? Yes he is but that bar wasn't very high. He played ok today and that is perfectly fine considering the team played well and won. In my view as other posters have pointed out, he does not know what runs to make to receive the ball or to open up the defence. His passing has improved and as long as he keeps it simple. The weight of pass to create chances isn't good enough at this level. First touch is poor and shooting is very poor.

When I am critical of Brewster it is not having an agenda or that what I am saying is toxic. I am saying what I see. He isn't good enough at this level.

Some may be a bit too blunt in how they put their message across. On the other side there are posters who criticise Hamer for stray passes and think he is overrated. Then who defend Brewster against all relevant facts. He is liked in the dressing room is not a rational argument in defending a player. The blades aren't a charity. I am great fun in the dressing room or any room you want to pick. It's out on the pitch where the evidence is gathered on performance and impact. I suggest a few posters should focus their attention on that.

I thought he played quite well. Got a bit unlucky with the deflected/blocked shots - such as luck is, when it’s not on your side, it’s really not.

Definitely one of his better performances today but that isn't really saying much. Let's hope we get BBD and Cannon though the door paired with Campbell and Moore meaning we won't see Brewdog very much at all from now.

He tries his hardest and is a positive influence in the dressing room 😂😂😂
I could do that. Start me and pay mr 35k a week. What a shit post

Thought Brewster put in another OK team performance, works hard with decent link play but he still doesn’t really look like scoring.

It was noticeable how in the short time Campbell was on….he looked really good…..a far better striker
made several clever runs and looked more likely to score, was pretty impressed by TC.
Surely Brewster is not a striker . Today I thought he played well. He won a lot in the air and played some thoughtful balls, including one down the side for Campbell to tun onto.

He had some good touches today and was ok. When his contract is up in the summer he will no doubt be a good fit for a top half league one side.

I think he's got got the hots for him. Remember at school when you fancied a girl and you were nasty towards her to show how much you liked her. I never did this shit but you get the gist.

Agreed. Pathetic how everyone wanks themselves raw over what is basically a very expensive cheerleader
In the words of Roy Keane “I’ve heard people say they want him around the place - for what? Does he do card tricks? Does he have a sing-song? Does he do quizzes in the evening?”
He certainly doesn’t do what he is paid to do which is score goals
