With Anis now joining Norwich, I would like Brewdog to fill his role as backup LWer.

No pressure to score every game and on the occasions he's played out wide he's actually done OK.

In meantime thinking would like One to be given the opportunity to be the one who comes on for Moore when he's tiring.

Scored in preseason and seems to have improved based on U21 games so far this season.

Gives him the opportunity to gain valuable first team minutes and may just be his breakout season...

Not a bad idea regarding Brewster, played out wide for Slav a few years ago and did okay at it.

Wouldn't mind Rak-Sakyi potentially covering LW sometimes as he is meant to be left footed, especially as Brooks is working hard to keep the RW spot.

I've mentioned it on another thread we earlier but I wonder if we could give Onè a few 10-15 minute cameos (potentially do the same with Marsh) to see if we can speed up his development a bit and get him used to first team football.

I know Marsh didn't have the best of games against Barnsley but I wonder if playing with senior players rather than other young players (like Peck and Hampson) might help him more, especially as they can help him get through the more difficult parts of games.

Edit: what I said about Marsh also applies to Peck.

No one for now, but Wilder appears to recognise this with going for a lone striker up top. We go with what we've got and hope that Hamer, O'Hare and Brooks chip in with some goals.

Wilder himself said he wanted to bring in another striker and a left winger before the end of today, but it was out of his hands, even after the expected sale of Trusty.

It reads to me like if it weren’t for the owners decision then he’d get an extension. No one in their right mind would offer him a new contract as a player for Sheffield United unless he pays subs to play.

I'll say it again. Our developent team play on a level equivalent to top end National League and Lower end League Two level. The step up from there to the Championship is huge. Ryan One has done well for the development league last season but he is not ready for the Championship yet. He is behind Peck and Marsh in terms of experience and development and they both needed a loan move, but couldn't because the squad is lacking in depth.

You don't throw inexperienced youngsters in at the deep end as it could set them back years if their confidence takes a hit.

One is not ready for the Championship. Marsh is ahead of him in the pecking order and even he isn't proven at this or League One level.

I guess we'll see if One is ready. Probably not, but I wouldn't write him off this season just yet. People develop at different rates. Loans don't work for everyone and he may benefit from training with better players.

It's not Wilder's fault, he wanted another striker yesterday and didn't get one, which appeared to be out of his control.

My guess is either that he had a target lined up but it needed Anel or Souza to leave to finance the deal. Most likely it was one of the players who went elsewhere.

The whole takeover saga is to blame.

One is not backup for Moore. He's not even featured on the bench for our three league games. Marsh is the backup player from the academy.

I really don't get why people keep throwing One's name into the mix all the time. He was an unused sub against Barnsley.

His confidence infront of goal is shot, forget the 'Billy Big bollocks' behaviour and jumping about, he seriously lacks confidence.

I think he probably needs games and that would be the only reason to send one to league one on loan, but you’re right. Not every player needs a league one loan to develop.

He’s played a fair few games in Scotland before he came to us so he’s had first team exposure as well

Looking at him against Wrexham he looks a central striker not a makeshift winger.

Likewise with Brewster, keep playing him through the middle in cameos, preferablly off Moore or even One

Brewsters ability isn’t in question for me, it’s his body’s ability to deal with a run of more than 3-4 games.

One thing Brewster has over all the other strikers, other than Marsh, is a strikers instinct. He doesn't take extra unnecessary touches (Andre Brooks take note), and shoots on sight first time. His biggest drawback so far has been power over accuracy, where he just smashes it as hard as he can, when placing it probably would have seen it in the back of the net. He has come to close to scoring on a number of occasions, and despite what people want to believe, has looked a bigger threat on goal than Moore. I think his whole smash it hard thing is down to desperation to score after all this time out. Hopefully the first goal will settle him and he'll become more composed.

He's not as bad as people make him out to be. The fee we paid and his injuries have made people judge him to be worse than he is, and yet they hero worship McBurnie whose goal scoring record over five seasons was poor for what we paid and how often he played.

Keep him fit this season, get him scoring, and then he's worth another contract, if only to get our monies worth.
If he can stay fit, he could be a cult player for us, theres definitely a footballer in there, and he's still young enough.

The midfield is fantastic, the defence is more than adequate at Championship level however the strike force is diabolical. We are going to be totally reliant on our midfield and wide men picking up the baton and scoring tje goals. So far they've done that but to not have a proper back up to Moore is ridiculous.

You might be right but I bet you Wilder isn't happy with his choices up front. We may concede but we bought a new keeper, got a mountainous centre back, 2 new left backs and 2 new right backs. Also keeping Anel was akin to a new signing as we thought he was going. So we have a fair bit of cover.
