Outgoing? Brewster and Burke

Burke not even on the benh today so not surprised if that's true. I'll stick my hand up and say I thought Burke would be a really good player this season/ Sadly, he's not excelled in early games, he's not alone there it has to be said, but he hasn't looked the part as a forward and hasn't caused enough problems this season playing as a wide forward.

Brewster is a weird one. If we can get him back to form playing for Swansea we'll have a decent player on our hands but he doesn't fit as a wide forward and up top, if playing with just one central forward and two wingers then something has to give from the strikers we currently have - one or two have to go surely, or they just won't feature.

The club will have to give away some of the players though or for vastly reduced fees.

If we sell Brewster after starting about 10 games and spending £23 million it would go down as the worst transfer in history

Surely there’s no way we sell him better off loaning him to Belgium to regain some confidence

Love how Beerschot has become to us what Australia was to the 19th century British Government.

Still think Darius Henderson at £2m was £2m overpriced and pound for pound one of the worst signings we've ever made, but yeah, Brewster leaving now for say half what we paid for him - if lucky - would make it the worst signing.

Not sure why we are having a clear out with 10 days left should have been in July. Glad he's seeing some players aren't good enough. Bit worried that nothing is said about fleck and no good

Exactly and at their age there’s not a lot to gain from persevering with them. It’s so weird that we’d be looking at taking a massive loss on brewster while his stock so low. We’re gonna end up with the same squad as 3 years ago at this rate

In fairness he had to look at the players himself to make his own mind up, you always get one or two who improve with new manager - well normally! Freeman and Coutts previously for example. I can see, sadly, Freeman going if he isn't going to feature much for us he'll want to move.

Half???

If someone offered 11.5 million for Brewster I'd be checking it wasn't the 1st of April before wrapping him in cotton wool for the journey to the medical

Only problem with getting rid of Brewster now is that there's barely any time to get a replacement. Burke can fuck off.

I can see the reasoning behind selling Brewster, Slav knows he needs more than 5 players to make us decent. Brewster would get us the most money (not our money back). It’ll forever go down in Blades history as a god awful transfer. Maybe Liverpool wanna buy him back..

Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic is open to the idea of selling Rhian Brewster this summer, if the right offer comes in for the striker.

Brewster, who only arrived for around £23m last summer, has scored just the single goal in red and white. That goal came in the cup against Carlisle last week, and he drew a blank once again this afternoon against Huddersfield Town

The Sun claims that Brewster is among a cluster of attacking players the new United boss is prepared to let go. Their report suggests that Brewster could go, if the right offer comes in from elsewhere.

So looks like ideal formation 4-5-1 with any offers on any strikers to be considered as 8 into 1 doesn't go

One thing l don't quite understand is that one of the features on CW:s tenure and recruitment was that he 'wouldn't leave the club in a vulnerable situation, should the worst happen and we get relegated, regarding player wages etc' Implying things like relegation clauses were inserted into contracts to safeguard our finances.

Why then, is a decent portion of the conversation around our squad suggesting we need to shift people on due to costs? Purely because we're sitting on 'valuable' assets or are wages a genuine issue?
