Brewster and Ampadu

We have seen that because we pull teams out of shape our chances come to those 'arriving' (like Barsham v Leeds and Osbourn last night) . Regardless if we had Kane or Vardy we would struggle to get them 15 per season. Brewster made some runs yesterday that others don't make he will be OK.

McBurnie is off form so start him on the bench with Brewster getting up to speed use him from the bench until we have this run of tough games out of the way.
Up front to start it's 2 from McG, Burke, Sharp unless Mousset suddenly returns.

A poster which I usually agree wholeheartedly with. But tonight, re: Brewster - no. I think you were seeing what you wanted to see. He was actually quite poor. There was no good movement, he looked weak & his touch was heavy. He looked startled to be on the pitch & lacked confidence. I expected him to be raw, but was hoping he'd show some confidence & quality that we're lacking.

I don't doubt that he might be a good forward in a team that controls the game & creates opportunities, but for us... a team digging in, hitting long & hoping to sucker punch - he doesn't look ideal. Oli Burke in next game for me.
Always interested in hearing your view CaptainMorgans. I’ll admit on this one it was the small things that did it for me, rather than anything substantial, so I was prepared to face some opposition. But I’m standing by it, and it’s definitely not me trying to see what I want to see. It wasn’t like when he came off the bench last week and looked like someone trying way too hard and failing. I was actually disappointed to see him hooked for Burke at the time as I felt it would make us less cohesive as an overall unit. But it was his first start in god knows how long and Burke’s strengths in that kind of game cannot be ignored. Anyway, the main thing: I feel good about Brewster.

Ha
people writing Brewster off at 3/4 of a game
I wonder if the people saying Brewster not it
Would have given DKL 4 years to develop into the player he is
Just what the fuck are Everton doing giving a good young player time
FFS will some of you Blades tell em we’re their going wrong
In 4 years many things could have changed at BDTBL,see Everton have always been a comfortable Prem side and have been able to let DKL develop,we on the other hand are now in a desperate situation and need goals scoring,we dont have 4 years to give,Brewster wont be here along with quite a few other players.

I will liken Brewster to Ched Evans first season,he looked nervous and the ball never ran for him too,but when he clicked he was phenominal.

I thought Brewster was still a Liverpool player?
He gave passes away, didn't close anyone down, backed off and stood about, and i was expecting him to prove to Liverpool they made a mistake selling him, instead he showed why they did.

let’s not judge Brewster off one game.

we did the same with people slating ramsdale after one game.

Berge was being called a waste of money for his performances when he first joined - and to be honest he didn’t stand out last season bar the odd game. He’s now looking comfortably out best player this season.

it’s going to take some time

Guess that's that then
He's shit as well

He does have a point though mate, I expected more from RB as it was a chance to say fuck you Klopp.

not feeling great about the season so far, but on reflection we’ve probably played 5 top 10 (come the end of the season) sides in 6 games and it’s going to be 7 from 8.

get through the next few weeks and if we have fleck back, mousset Back on the grass to give us an option, Brewster more comfortable on the system and ampadu in the side and playing to his potential - we will look a lot stronger.

The difference is Everton paid 1.5 million with a view to developing him. We've paid 23 million for Brewster.

Anybody said he's shit.......?.........that will be a NO then.
He needs time, I was just hoping he would've shown something last night to make a point, he didn't.
Can you honestly say he made a difference, was stand out, or was even remotely involved to a significant part??
I'd be suprised if you can.

No but understandable in the circumstances
First premier league game against his old club will probably take time to get up to speed and was more than likely nervous

In all honesty it shouldn't matter who we play, we showed that last season, the lack of support has had a massive affect on us, and until we get used to it, unfortunately, we don't look like we will be staying up.
I hope I'm wrong, but we were all hoping for a bit more than 1 point at this stage, and I'm suprised that wilder still doesn't know his best team at the moment, and i know it's probably because of injuries, but we can't leave it much longer, were not looking half the team we were last season after spending millions to make sure we were in a better position.
But I still have faith in the gaffer and the lads to turn this round, unfortunately that should mean no days off for the foreseeable though.

Don't disagree, but he just didn't seem with it at all last night, he showed the bench is the best place until he gets up to speed.

We all would have hoped for better. And let’s be honest we just aren’t Going to have as good a season as last time out. I’d snatch you hand off for 4th bottom now.

That said we have been unlucky with injuries and suspensions etc, even excluding JOC. , I think wilder knows the side he wants to play, he’s just not quite had the chance to play it. Lowe forcing his way in but getting injured, fleck being out, moose not being fit for his X factor etc.

Give it a month or so get them back and we look stronger, then it’s not long to get to January and sort a LCB.

berge, ampadu and fleck looks a good midfield for me.

and hopefully Brewster and mcburnie can force a partnership once they grow into the side. All our key signings took tome to make an impact. We have seen what mcburnie can do, now we are seeing what berge can do ramsdale is playing well.
